Resonance light scattering, a phenomenon of an abrupt enhancement of Rayleigh light scattering in close proximity to an absorption band, is easily detectable in solutions of strongly absorbing chromophores, which form large aggregates with strong pi-pi-electronic coupling among the chromophores. Resonance light scattering spectra need to be corrected for the sensitivity of spectrofluorimeter as well as for the effects of internal light filter. A method for correcting the measured resonance light scattering is described.

A new method of treatment of patients with chronic prostatitis and sterility by means of ultra-high frequency (60 W) electric field applied bitemporally has been proposed. During treatment 82% of the patients showed an increase in the number of spermatozoa in 1 ml of ejaculate; the percentage of movable and morphologically normal spermatozoa has increased. Patients with chronic prostatitis and sterility showed in the prostatic secrete before treatment a predominance of B-lymphocytes over T-lymphocytes.

CBA and C57BL mice were immunized intraperitoneally with the conjugates 2,4-dinitrophenyl-bovine gamma-globulin, 2,4,6-trinitrophenyl-bovine serum albumin, diasotated p-aminobenzoic acid-bovine serum albumin, and sulfanylic acid-bovine serum albumin, whereupon migration of hemopoietic stem cells to the spleen was investigated. Immunization with the conjugates haptene--protein was shown in most cases to provoke an intensified migration of hemopoietic stem cells in mice highly responsive to the specific haptene, and at the same time to reduce, as a rule, the intensity of migration in mice of the poorly responsive genotype. It is concluded that the migration ability of stem cells seems likely to be connected with genetic determination of the immune response in mice of different genotypes.

PAA was seen to increase accumulation of AFC in the spleen of mice depending on their genotypes. PMVP and PAA were found to intensify the cooperating interaction of T- and B-lymphocytes, whereas their copolymers exert quite an opposite effect.

A study was made of the content of rosette-forming cells to DNP-ovalbumin in the spleen of mice of different inbred strains. The values of the rosette-forming cells and of the titre of serum agglutinins to the DNP-group in DNP--bovine gamma-globulin immunization of mice of these strains were determined. It was shown that there were interstrain differences in respect to the normal and immune rosette-forming cells and also humoral antibodies.

P-4-VP induces helper activity in lymphoid organs of B-mice. P-4-VP injected into mice substitutes T cell function in the development of immunological memory.

The effect of poly-4-vinylpyridine and polyacrilic acid on production of antibodyforming cells to the sheep red blood cells in in vivo mixed cultures of T- and B-lymphocytes involved an obvious increase of the immune response. To a lesser extent theimmune response was increased in B-lymphocyte cultures, and no such effect was observed in T-lymphocyte cultures. The poly-4-vinlpyridine and polyacrilic acid were concluded to enhance cooperation between T- and B-lymphocytes and, probably, to replacethe T-lymphocytes function in B-mice.
