[Immune status of patients with exacerbation of chronic suppurative otitis media and its correction].

The authors report results of a clinical and immunological study involving 38 patients with exacerbation of chronic suppurative otitis media. It has demonstrated high immunological and clinical efficiency of combined treatment with derinate (an agent stimulating local immunity) and high molecular-weight polypeptide polyoxidonium. It is concluded that inclusion of these drugs in combined therapy of chronic suppurative otitis media increases its immunological and clinical effectiveness and allows duration of patients' hospitalization to be reduced.

[Morpho-functional characteristic of the lumbar area of the human vertebral column in the individuals with various degrees of lumbar lordosis (on the basis of three-dimensional computer modeling)].

This investigation was aimed at the evaluation of the borders of individual variability of the human lumbar spine lordosis. 224 nuclear magnetic tomograms of persons of mature age were analyzed using morphometric, statistical methods, method of three-dimensional (3D) computer modeling and finite-element analysis. During the investigation, a hardware-software complex for morphometric research was created together with the new method of development of 3D computer models of the lumbar spine.

[Use of immune and cytogenetic tests to assess the effect of different anthropogenic factors on the human organism in a large industrial region setting].

A feasibility is analyzed of our using a complex of immunological and cytogenetic investigations to assess the impact of adverse factors of antropogenic origination, chemical and radiation ones in particular, on the immune system and genetic apparatus in those persons residing under conditions of a large industrial region. Identified in the above subjects was the presence of different variants of secondary immunological insufficiency, chromosome and chromatid aberrations in liquidators of the effects of the Chornobyl accident, workers of chemicals--, by-product coke plants, and metallurgical works, the degree of the above insufficiency being decided by ecological conditions of residence, presence of occupational hazards, their nature, and duration of exposure.

[Combined trauma and sepsis in forensic medical practice].

[Cases of heart strangulation in a wound of the pericardium].

Describes the rare cases of incarceration of a part of the heart between the edges of the pericardium in incisions made during cardiosurgery for cut wounds of the heart and in case of incarceration of the heart at the site of rupture of the pericardium during traumas in the car cabin as a result of car accidents. Incarceration of the heart has been never diagnosed during patient's life.

[Osteogenesis during the correction of burns with alpha-tocopherol].

Macro- and microscopic transformations were studied in burned animals skeleton after treatment with alpha-tocopherolum. The antioxidant was found to optimize osteogenesis, disturbed in burn lesion.

[The proliferative processes in the skeleton of white rats administered dipal experimentally and after antioxidant therapy with tocopherol].

Specific features of osteogenesis under a toxic action of pesticide Dipal and antioxidation therapy with tocopherol were studied in experiments in inbred albino rats by the method of autoradiography with 3H-thymidine label. The index of labeled nuclei and intensity of the label in chondroblasts and osteoblasts of the epiphyseal cartilage and periosteum of the middle third of the tibia diaphysis were counted in the light autoradiograms. The method of electron autoradiography was used for the identification of DNA-synthesizing osseous and cartilaginous cells and for studying their ultrastructure.

[Comparative morphometric analysis of the reaction of the rat bone to dehydration and burn trauma].

The epiphyseal cartilage and diaphysis of the tibia have been studied at dehydration and burn trauma. Dehydration produces certain disturbances in growth and formation of the bone, and burn trauma--development of dystrophic changes.
