The current paper highlights the active development of tissue engineering in the field of the biofabrication of living tissue analogues through 3D-bioprinting technology. The implementation of the latter is impossible without important products such as bioinks and their basic components, namely, hydrogels. In this regard, tissue engineers are searching for biomaterials to produce hydrogels with specified properties both in terms of their physical, mechanical and chemical properties and in terms of local biological effects following implantation into an organism.

The Effect of Once-Daily Gabapentin Extended Release Formulation in Patients With Postamputation Pain.

Objectives: To compare gabapentin extended-release, a gastro-retentive formulation, in relieving postamputation pain among gabapentin-experienced and gabapentin-naïve patients.

Design: Open-labeled pilot study.

Subjects: Sixteen patients with postamputation pain (8 patients in the gabapentin-experienced and 8 patients in the gabapentin-naïve groups).

Phytochromes are red-light photoreceptors that were first characterized in plants, with homologs in photosynthetic and non-photosynthetic bacteria known as bacteriophytochromes (BphPs). Upon absorption of light, BphPs interconvert between two states denoted Pr and Pfr with distinct absorption spectra in the red and far-red. They have recently been engineered as enzymatic photoswitches for fluorescent-marker applications in non-invasive tissue imaging of mammals.

[DYNAMICS OF OCCURRENCE AND REGRESSION OF NEUTROPHIL EXTRACELLULAR TRAPS IN THE EXPERIMENTAL MODEL OF THE WOUND INFECTIOUS-INFLAMMATORY PROCESS].

The dynamics of the appearance and regression of neutrophilic extracellular traps (NETs) in the experimental model of the wound infectious-inflammatory process that was caused by infection of open wounds by microbes surrounding environment, was studied. It was established that on the second day from the start of the experiment a significant number of mature neutrophilic granulocytes show the ability to form NEТs. The number of NETs was reached its maximum by the 2th and 4th days from the beginning of the experiment, that was associated with maximum occurrence of symptoms of inflammation in the wound.

[COMBINED IMMUNOTHERAPY OF RECONDITIONAL CHRONIC NON-SPECIFIC VULVOVAGINITIS IN IMMUNOCOMPROMISED GIRLS].

Nonspecific chronic vulvovaginitis (CNV) is often a clinical indicator of immune deficiency, especially in young girls. The established violations of the functioning of various parts of the immune system (IS) in this pathology dictate the need to include in the complex of immunomodulatory therapy. The developed program of combined immunotherapy for immunocompromised girls allows to reduce the severity and duration of exacerbation of CNV, their frequency against the background of a significant reduction in the incidence of ARVI.

Femto- to Microsecond Photodynamics of an Unusual Bacteriophytochrome.

A bacteriophytochrome from Stigmatella aurantiaca is an unusual member of the bacteriophytochrome family that is devoid of hydrogen bonding to the carbonyl group of ring D of the biliverdin (BV) chromophore. The photodynamics of BV in SaBphP1 wild type and the single mutant T289H reintroducing hydrogen bonding to ring D show that the strength of this particular weak interaction determines excited-state lifetime, Lumi-R quantum yield, and spectral heterogeneity. In particular, excited-state decay is faster in the absence of hydrogen-bonding to ring D, with excited-state half-lives of 30 and 80 ps for wild type and the T289H mutant, respectively.

[Rapid analysis of suppositories by quantitative 1H NMR spectroscopy].

Rapid analysis of suppositories with ibuprofen and arbidol by quantitative 1H NMR spectroscopy was performed. Optimal conditions for the analysis were developed. The results are useful for design of rapid methods for quality control of suppositories with different components

[Changes in coagulation hemostasis in patients after coronary bypass surgery].

Changes in the coagulation link of hemostasis were studied in 37 patients who had undergone coronary bypass surgery using venous and arterial conduits and in 16 healthy individuals of the same age. The recordings of hemostasiograms were examined before and 14 days after surgery. Prior to coronary bypass surgery, the patients with ischemic heart disease were found to have coagulation hemostatic disorders as moderate hyperfibrinogenemia, fibrinolytic suppression, thrombinemia, and elevated D-dimer concentrations.

The outcomes of treatment of 110 homeless patients with tuberculosis admitted to Moscow City Clinical Hospital No. 7 in 1993-1996 were followed up. All homeless persons have various concurrent diseases, such as alcoholism, chronic nonspecific diseases of the lung, diseases of the cardiovascular system, kidney, liver, etc.

By analyzing the present-day tuberculosis epidemiological situation in the country and sociomedical characteristics of new cases, the authors present methods for detecting and treating patients, which are of paramount importance for today. Of the most significance is the need to promptly identify patients with strains on their referral to the general somatic hospitals for complaints by using 3-multiple sputum bacterioscopy for Mycobacterium tuberculosis by the Ziehl-Neelsen method. The vital problem is also to change chemotherapeutical regimens as more severe progressive types of the disease require more active treatment in the first months after detection especially in the cohort of socially disadapted persons.

[Efficacy of clinical follow-up of patients with tuberculosis of the respiratory organs in terms of their cure under present-day epidemiological conditions].

A total of 884 newly detected patients with tuberculosis of the respiratory organs with degradation were followed up for 9 years (1987-1995). Control group consisted of 1419 patients with respiratory tuberculosis without degradation. As a result of treatment, the destruction focus was healed in 3 years in 73.

[Long-term follow-up of newly diagnosed patients with destructive pulmonary tuberculosis].

The authors present 6-year follow-up results for 884 new cases with destructive respiratory tuberculosis. The patients were from a high risk group by social, disease form and associated disease criteria. The majority of the cases (90%) were detected at diagnostic x-ray outpatient examinations.

Data on tuberculosis morbidity covering the period 1950-1989 are presented: special features of tuberculosis epidemiology for the studied period are emphasized; grouping of the republics is given by tuberculosis morbidity rates and pattern; difficulties encountered in tuberculosis prevention and detection are discussed which can adversely affect the decline of tuberculosis mortality rates.

[The formation of outpatient-observation group VII taking into account patients with chronic nonspecific diseases of the respiratory organs].

The data on retrospective observation of 6800 persons registered in the dispensary group VII in Lvov in 1976-1984 are presented. Examination of the persons registered in group VII for concomitant chronic nonspecific diseases of the respiratory organs (CNDRO) revealed their high incidence. Tuberculosis relapses in the persons of group VII A suffering from concomitant CNDRO amounted to 50 per cent of all the relapses.
