Type 2 diabetes (T2D), the most common form, is marked by insulin resistance and β-cell failure. β-cell dysfunction under high-glucose-high-lipid (HG-HL) conditions is a key contributor to the progression of T2D. This study evaluates the comparative effects of 10 nM semaglutide, 10 nM tirzepatide, and 1 mM metformin, both alone and in combination, on INS-1 β-cell maintenance and function under HG-HL conditions.

Design: This was a mixed methods, exploratory study. A convenience sample of rehabilitation professionals received surveys regarding current access to CPD and the perceived needs for additional resources to support professional development.

Large species adapted to cold climates are particularly vulnerable to extinction due to climate changes. In our study, we investigated whether temperature increase since the Late Pleistocene and the contraction of environmental niche during the Holocene were the main factors contributing to the decreasing range of moose (Alces alces) in Europe.

PROTECTION OF CONFIDENTIAL MEDICAL INFORMATION IN UKRAINE: PROBLEMS OF LEGAL REGULATION.

The aim of the article is to analyze the legal aspects and mechanisms of confidential medical information protection about an individual in the health care sphere in Ukraine. During the scientific research, various methods of cognition of legal phenomena were used. Among the general scientific approaches, the dialectical method was primarily used, which allowed to identify trends in the development of patient information rights and formulate proposals for improving legislation in the field of medical data protection.

A diverse assemblage of species (Elasmobranchii: Ptychodontidae) from the Upper Cretaceous of Ukraine, with comments on possible diversification drivers during the Cenomanian.

New isolated teeth from the Upper Cretaceous of Ukraine and belonging to the extinct durophagous shark are described here. The taxonomic identification of the examined material reveals a quite diverse Cenomanian shark fauna which comprised both cuspidate and un-cuspidate species of from the coastal areas at the north-western margin of the Ukrainian Massif. In addition, from the Turonian of Ukraine is reported here for the first time.

Fate and preservation of the late pleistocene cave bears from Niedźwiedzia Cave in Poland, through taphonomy, pathology, and geochemistry.

This comprehensive study examines fossil remains from Niedźwiedzia Cave in the Eastern Sudetes, offering detailed insights into the palaeobiology and adversities encountered by the Pleistocene cave bear Ursus spelaeus ingressus. Emphasising habitual cave use for hibernation and a primarily herbivorous diet, the findings attribute mortality to resource scarcity during hibernation and habitat fragmentation amid climate shifts. Taphonomic analysis indicates that the cave was extensively used by successive generations of bears, virtually unexposed to the impact of predators.

Targeting Colorectal Cancer: Unravelling the Transcriptomic Impact of Cisplatin and High-THC Cannabis Extract.

Cisplatin and other platinum-derived chemotherapy drugs have been used for the treatment of cancer for a long time and are often combined with other medications. Unfortunately, tumours often develop resistance to cisplatin, forcing scientists to look for alternatives or synergistic combinations with other drugs. In this work, we attempted to find a potential synergistic effect between cisplatin and cannabinoid delta-9-THC, as well as the high-THC extract, for the treatment of HT-29, HCT-116, and LS-174T colorectal cancer cell lines.

This study investigates the anti-inflammatory effects of 5-HT2A ligands, including psilocybin, 4-AcO-DMT, and ketanserin, in combination with TRP channel ligands, including capsaicin, curcumin, and eugenol, on the inflammatory response induced by tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interferon (IFN)-γ in human 3D EpiIntestinal tissue.

The article presents the results of a study of the main social and household characteristics of families with disabled children, conducted in the territory of the Belgorod region (targeted survey; n = 990). The research made it possible to answer questions about children's health problems, their living conditions, the economic status of the family, the work of parents, the social environment and other characteristics of families. The article examines the passporting method of target problem (socially vulnerable) groups as an effective way of obtaining system information, a social picture of the situation, conditions, and problems of such families.
