Background: The beneficial effect of virtual reality (VR) on pain management in the context of transrectal MRI-guided prostate biopsy is not well established. However, it remains unclear whether an adjunctive of VR also improves pain management. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of VR as adjunctive in pain management in transrectal MRI-guided prostate biopsy (PB).

Purpose: In diseases where there is no real consensus regarding treatment modalities, promoting shared decision-making can contribute to improving safety and quality of care. This is the case in low- or intermediate-risk localized prostate cancer (PC) treatment. The aim of this study was to investigate the preferences guiding men's decisions regarding the characteristics of the treatment strategies for PC to help physicians adopt a more patient-centered approach.

Introduction: Restaging transurethral resection (re-TUR) of high grade T1 bladder cancer (HGT1-BC) is recommended but the impact in terms of recurrence-free survival (RFS) and progression-free survival (PFS) is discussed. The objective of this study was to evaluate our practice of re-TUR for these tumors and its impact on overall survival (OS), RFS and PFS.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted between 2010 and 2020.

Background: Partial nephrectomy (PN) is recommended as first-line treatment for cT1 stage kidney tumors because of a better renal function and probably a better overall survival than radical nephrectomy (RN). For larger tumors, PN has a controversial position due to lack of evidence showing good cancer control. The aim of this study was to compare the results of PN and RN in cT2a stage on overall survival and oncological results.

Objectives: Currently, the French High Authority for Health does not recommend mass screening for prostate cancer (PCa), due to the risk of over-treatment, notably of low risk patients. Our study is intended to reflect the therapeutic attitudes for the management of patients classified as low risk of progression in French clinical centers.

Methods: For all positive prostate biopsies performed during 2012 and 2013 in five French departments of urology, clinicopathological characteristics required to calculate the d'Amico risk group and the Cancer of the Prostate Risk Assessment (CAPRA) score were filled.

Unlabelled: Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is still the cornerstone of prostate cancer (PCa) screening and diagnosis in both research and current clinical practice. Inaccuracy of PSA is partly due to the influence of a number of genetic, clinical, and biological factors modifying PSA blood levels. In the present study, we detailed the respective influence of each factor among age, body mass index (BMI), prostate volume, and five single-nucleotide polymorphisms-rs10788160 (10q26), rs10993994 (10q11), rs11067228 (12q24), rs17632542 (19q13.

Objectives: To evaluate the oncological outcomes of papillary renal cell carcinoma (pRCC) following nephron sparing surgery (NSS) and to determine whether the subclassification type of pRCC could be a prognostic factor for recurrence, progression, and specific death.

Materials And Methods: An international multicentre retrospective study involving 19 institutions and the French network for research on kidney cancer was conducted after IRB approval. We analyzed data of all patients with pRCC who were treated by NSS between 2004 and 2014.

Objective: The widespread use of renal ultrasonography has resulted in simple renal cysts (SRC) being discovered with increasing frequency in routine pediatric urological practice. Management of SRC, however, remains controversial. Most SRC are asymptomatic, are diagnosed incidentally, and have no clinical consequence.

Article Synopsis
  • - Genito-urinary tuberculosis is the fourth most common form of the disease but is often overlooked due to its vague symptoms and slow progression; signs usually include ureteral narrowing and specific genital issues like epididymal nodules in men and chronic salpingitis in women.
  • - Diagnosis is primarily done through culture studies, but because the disease can have very few bacteria, imaging techniques like CT scans and MRIs are also important, along with potential endoscopic and surgical procedures for obtaining samples.
  • - Treatment typically involves a six-month regime of four antibiotics (isoniazid, rifampicin, ethambutol, and pyrazinamide), while surgery may be necessary for patients with severe complications affecting kidney function or reproductive health

Intractable hematuria from the bladder or the prostate can be life-threatening and its management remains a difficult clinical problem. Severe bleeding can arise as a result of radiation cystitis, bladder carcinoma, cyclophosphamide-induced cystitis, severe infection, transurethral resection of the prostate and prostate cancer. When irrigation of the bladder through a three-way catheter and fulguration of the bleeding lesions fail to stop the hematuria, a life-threatening situation can develop, when blood transfusion fails to keep pace with the rate of blood loss.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examined the occurrence and characteristics of prostate cancer (PCa) found incidentally in patients who underwent radical cystoprostatectomy (RCP) for bladder cancer, analyzing data from 4,299 male patients from 1996 to 2012.
  • Among the patients, 21.7% were found to have PCa, with the majority being at an early stage (90.1% organ-confined).
  • During follow-up, only 1.9% experienced a recurrence of PCa, and no patients died from it, highlighting a low risk associated with incidental PCa diagnosis in this context.

Purpose: Because radical prostatectomy with robot-assisted surgery can lead to unwanted prostatic capsular incisions, capsular incision in normal prostatic tissue (CINPT) is not rare. To study the relationship between positive surgical margins (PSM) and CINPT after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy.

Methods: From September 2009 to January 2013, 203 consecutive robot-assisted prostatectomies were carried out by the same surgeon.
