Background: Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) are associated with ongoing postpartum hypertension (HTN) and increased morbidity. Extravascular water and sodium mobilization is implicated in postpartum blood pressure (BP) elevation, however trials of postpartum diuretics in HDP have had mixed results.
