Asthma, a lung disorder that causes impaired respiratory function, is characterized by an apparent infiltration of inflammatory cells. Gentisic acid (GA), a phenolic acid common in food ingredients, has antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Its potential application in mitigating asthma, however, remains unexplored.

Our current research focuses on identifying effective therapeutic agents by targeting the human aromatase enzyme. Aromatase inhibitors (AIs) have been effective in treating postmenopausal breast cancer but face challenges such as drug resistance and long-term side effects like cognitive decline and osteoporosis.

Congenital esophageal diverticulum is an extremely rare condition with few reports published in the literature. Although its typical presentation is related to feeding problem, stridor and respiratory distress can be the leading symptoms in some cases. In this report, we present a case of esophageal diverticulum in a one-year-old child came primarily with airway problems associated with large neck swelling.

Asthma is a severe respiratory disease marked by airway inflammation, remodeling, and oxidative stress. β-Glucan (BG), a polysaccharide constituent of fungal cellular structures, exhibits potent immunomodulatory activities. The investigational focus was on the anti-asthmatic and anti-ferroptotic properties of beta-glucan nanoparticles (BG-NPs) in a murine model of allergic asthma induced by ovalbumin (OVA).

Chalcones are substances that have attracted considerable interest in the disciplines of pharmaceutical chemistry and drug discovery due to their diverse biochemical processes, such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antibacterial, and others, but whether they can be used in asthma treatment has yet to be investigated. This study aimed to investigate the immunomodulatory effect of 4 hydroxychalcone (4-HC) against allergic asthma in mice.

Consequently, there exists a pressing need to enhance our treatment strategies by placing greater emphasis on planning and dosimetric factors, given the availability of more conformal techniques and delineation criteria, achieving optimal goals of radiotherapy treatment. The primary aim of this article is to discuss how the extent of regional nodal coverage influences the choice between IMRT and 3D radiation therapy for patients.

Classically, progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis is classified into three subtypes: 1, 2, and 3 and results from a defect in a biliary protein responsible for bile formation and circulation in the liver. In the last decade and with the increased use of genetic testing, more types have been known.

This procedure is rendered complex by the abbreviated length of the testicular vessels.
Objective: Our purpose in this study was to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis comparing Shehata technique (ST) versus Fowler Stephens technique (FST) in treating patients with IAT.
The aim of this study is to estimate the normal cross-sectional area and diameter of the stellate ganglion (SG) by ultrasound (US) in healthy adults. The study sample included 80 stellate ganglia in 40 participants (15 males, 25 females), mean age 38 years, mean height 162.5 cm, mean weight 67.

The study aims to provide an overview of the scientific literature available on ginger's efficacy in treating allergic asthma.
Data Source: The mouse model of asthma has been used to investigate the actions of ginger and its active compounds on allergies and asthma.
Objective: This study aimed at integrating the clinical and phenotypic characteristics, hormonal profile and genetic diagnosis of children with malformation syndromes associated with XY disorders of sex development (DSD) in a single-center in Egypt.
Methods: This retrospective study included patients with syndromic XY DSD recruited from the Pediatric Endocrinology and Surgery units at Alexandria University Children's hospital (AUCH), Alexandria, Egypt, during the period between 2018 and 2023. All patients included in the study underwent a detailed clinical and laboratory evaluation, ultrasonography (and laparoscopy if needed); and decision making was done accordingly.
Background: Bronchial asthma is a severe respiratory condition characterized by airway inflammation, remodeling, and oxidative stress. β-Glucan (BG) is a polysaccharide found in fungal cell walls with powerful immunomodulatory properties. This study examined and clarified the mechanisms behind BG's ameliorativeactivitiesin an allergic asthma animal model.

Renewable energy represents an important alternative solution for many energy problems nowadays and a tool for a healthier environment by reducing carbon footprints resulting from burning fossil fuels. However, more work needs to be done towards maximizing the energy produced from renewable energy methods and making sure that the infrastructure used stays in service for a longer duration. Sand erosion phenomena is responsible for the degradation of the wind turbine blades and hence the decrease in their performance and life.

Methods: Patients with unilateral impalpable undescended testis - as confirmed by clinical and sonographic examination- were enrolled in our prospective interventional study between November 2018 and August 2022 at Elshatby University Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University. The volume and three-dimensional diameter of the normal contralateral testis were measured by the pre-operative US using the formula: Volume = L x W x H x π/6, where L is the length, W is the width, H is the height, and was correlated with the intra-operative laparoscopic findings.
Background: Globally, hypertension is among the leading causes of premature mortality. It is a noncommunicable disease characterized by a persistent state of raised blood pressure that increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases and medical conditions affecting the brain and kidneys. There is a paucity of thorough hypertension knowledge assessment among hypertensive patients in the Jazan region of Saudi Arabia.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) is one of the most common metabolic diseases and is often associated with cervical radiculoplexus neuropathies. Magnetic resonance imaging is the modality of choice for evaluating the brachial plexus, however, the use of ultrasound for its evaluation has increased and has been shown to be an additional reliable method. We aimed to compare the cross-sectional areas of the C5, C6, and C7 nerve roots of the brachial plexus, at the interscalene groove, in asymptomatic patients with T2D to that of an asymptomatic control cohort without T2D.

The vagus nerve (VN) is the longest nerve in the autonomic nervous system, and since diabetic neuropathy manifests first in longer nerves, the VN is commonly affected in early diabetic autonomic neuropathy. The use of high-resolution ultrasound for peripheral and cranial nerve imaging has significantly increased over the past 2 decades.

Typically, these accessory spleens are found in close proximity to the main spleen, either in the hilum or within the surrounding ligaments. Nevertheless, it is noteworthy that they can also be located in unusual sites such as the jejunum wall, mesentery, pelvis, and, exceptionally rarely, the scrotum.
