Partial edentulism, characterized by the congenital absence of six or more permanent teeth (oligodontia), excluding the third molars, manifests with variable maxillofacial skeletal morphologies and occlusions, depending on the site and number of missing teeth, complicating treatment planning for occlusion and gain of function. Herein, we describe the case of a patient with seven non-syndromic congenitally missing permanent teeth (four in the maxillary and three in the mandibular dentition, excluding the third molars), who underwent orthodontic treatment, restorative procedures, and long-term follow-up for six years. The patient was an 18-year-old man presenting with a chief complaint of congenital absence of some permanent teeth and dental malalignment on the first visit.

MIR125B, particularly its 5p strand, is apparently involved in multiple cellular processes, including osteoblastogenesis and osteoclastogenesis. Given that MIR125B is transcribed from the loci Mir125b1 and Mir125b2, three mature transcripts (MIR125B-5p, MIR125B1-3p, and MIR125B2-3p) are generated (MIR125B-5p is common to both); however, their expression profiles and roles in the bones remain poorly understood. Both primary and mature MIR125B transcripts were differentially expressed in various organs, tissues, and cells, and their expression patterns did not necessarily correlate in wild-type (WT) mice.

To develop novel bovine lactoferrin (bLF) peptides targeting bLF-tumour necrosis factor (TNF) receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6) binding sites, we identified two peptides that could target bLF-TRAF6 binding sites using structural analysis. Moreover, another peptide that could bind to the TRAF6 dimerization area was selected from the bLF sequence. Sturge-Weber syndrome (SWS) is characterized by hemangiomas, glaucoma, and central nervous system disorders. To design biologically active, collagen-based scaffolds for bone tissue engineering, we have synthesized chimeric proteins consisting of stromal cell-derived factor-1α (SDF) and the von Willebrand factor A3 collagen-binding domain (CBD). The chimeric proteins were used to evaluate the effect of domain linkage and its order on the structure and function of the SDF and CBD. The structure of the chimeric proteins was analyzed by circular dichroism spectroscopy, while functional analysis was performed by a cell migration assay for the SDF domain and a collagen-binding assay for the CBD domain.
