The patient was a 74-year-old woman who was diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma, clinical Stage IIIA. Induction chemoradiation was performed followed by right upper lobectomy and lymph node dissection. Because of positive pleural effusion cytology, which was proven after surgery, the patient was diagnosed with pathological Stage IVA with EGFR L858R mutation.

Background: Myotonic dystrophy (dystrophia myotonica [DM]) is an autosomal-dominant inheritance, and myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disease characterized by weakness of skeletal muscles. Cases of both DM and MG are extremely rare and distinguishing DM and MG symptoms is challenging.

Case Presentation: We herein report a 49-year-old woman presenting with subacute dyspnea and muscle weakness.

Highly cross-linked, ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (HXLPE) acetabular liners are inherently associated to a risk of fatigue failure due to femoral neck impingement. Different thicknesses and designs employed with HXLPE liners greatly affect mechanical loading scenario. The purpose of this study was to clarify the influence of liner offset (lateralization) and locking mechanism (presence/absence of anti-rotation tabs in the external surface) on fatigue durability in annealed and vitamin E-blended HXLPE liners with a current commercial design.

We studied the ability of surfactants to reduce friction by boundary lubrication for a bulk hydrogel sliding on a solid surface in an aqueous solution. A piece of negatively charged polyelectrolyte hydrogel was slid across solid surfaces with various levels of hydrophobicity, using a strain-controlled parallel-plate rheometer in water. A dramatic reduction in the sliding friction, especially in the low velocity region, was detected by the addition of a surfactant to the water medium.
