The paper presents the result of assessing the antiradical status of consumers (in the context of Russia) in connection with their well-being. This approach is based on a multistage study, in which the results of sociological surveys were applied, as well as estimates of the antiradical potential (ARP) of diets obtained using neural networks, bootstrapping the chemical composition of diets, and calculating reference values using mathematical models. Here we report the effects of ammonium on the main biophysical features of neurons and astrocytes during the first minutes of exposure. We found that ammonium causes the depolarization of neurons, which leads to the generation of high-frequency action potentials (APs). Norepinephrine is one of the key neurotransmitters in the hippocampus, but its role in the functioning of the neuroglial networks remains unclear. Here we show that norepinephrine suppresses NH Cl-induced oscillations of the intracellular Ca concentration ([Ca ] ) in hippocampal neurons. We found that the inhibitory effect of norepinephrine against ammonium-induced [Ca ] oscillations is mediated by activation of alpha-2 adrenergic receptors.
