Unlabelled: The pathogenesis of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is complex and involves the dysregulation of immune cells, such as T and B lymphocytes, and several cytokines that promote the production of autoantibodies. In the context of cancer patients, ITP can occur in both primary and secondary forms related to anticancer therapies or the disease itself.
Objective: In light of these data, we decided to prepare a literature review that will explain the classification and immunological determinants of the pathogenesis of ITP and present the clinical implications of this condition, especially in patients with cancer.
: The aim of this study was to determine the assessment of the percentage of NK and NKT-like cells expressing Toll-like receptors (TLR-2, TLR-3, TLR-4, and TLR-9) in patients with gastric cancer (GC) compared with healthy volunteers (HV) and to investigate differences according to cancer subtype. We also assessed TLR gene expression by RT-qPCR to assess whether TLRs could be diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers. : The study included 86 patients with histologically confirmed gastric cancer and 30 healthy volunteers.

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of these actions on awareness, knowledge and implementation in practises of healthcare professionals (HCP).
Methods: Web-based cross-sectional surveys were conducted on HCPs engaged in the vaccination, monitoring or counselling about the vaccines.
Introduction: Risk minimisation measures (RMMs) aim to ensure safe use of medicines, but their implementation in clinical practice is complicated by the diversity of stakeholders whose clinical decision making they seek to inform. Clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) are considered integral in clinical decision making.
Objectives: To determine the extent to which RMMs are included in the relevant CPGs and to describe factors that determine RMM inclusion.
Purpose: There is an increasing interest in studying the potential of mobile health (mHealth) technologies, such as smartphone apps and wearables, as monitoring tools for patients with cancer during or after their treatment. However, little research is dedicated to exploring the opinions and concerns of patients regarding the adoption of these technologies. This study aimed to gain insight into patients' perspectives and preferences for participating in mHealth-based monitoring in cancer care.

We aimed to investigate the incidence of patient-generated medication discrepancies 30 days after hospital discharge and the impact of a pharmacist-led medication reconciliation coupled with patient counselling on clinically important discrepancies caused by patients.
Methods: A pragmatic, prospective, controlled clinical trial was conducted at the University Clinic Golnik, Slovenia.
(1) Introduction: Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are key in immune response by recognizing pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs). In gastric cancer (GC), TLR2, TLR3, TLR4, and TLR9 are crucial for modulating immune response and tumor progression. (2) Objective: This study aimed to assess the percentage of dendritic cells and monocytes expressing TLR2, TLR3, TLR4, and TLR9, along with the concentration of their soluble forms in the serum of GC patients compared to healthy volunteers.

It also cleanses cells from inclusions, including pathogenic viruses, and provides energy-forming components. The liver, which is an organ with increased metabolism, is made up of cells that are particularly vulnerable to damage.

Several groups have previously generated multiple neuronal subtypes, neural progenitor cells, oligodendrocytes, and other cell types directly from fibroblasts. However, while some groups have had success at the efficient conversion of fibroblasts to astrocytes, they have not yet achieved similar conversion efficiency for human fibroblasts.

Research suggests that TLRs may also have a significant impact on the development and progression of cancers, including gastric cancer (GC). Understanding the role of individual TLRs in the immunopathogenesis of gastric cancer may provide new information necessary to develop more effective diagnostic and therapeutic methods.

It is well accepted that hypertension is associated with impaired endothelium-dependent vascular reactivity in adult patients. However, there is a lack of data on hypertension-related endothelial dysfunction in hypertensive children.

Objective: Chemotherapy treatment modifications can impact survival in patients with ovarian cancer, particularly when the relative dose intensity falls below 85%. Exercise and dietary interventions may benefit treatment tolerability. This study aimed to explore the effects of a combined exercise and dietary intervention on secondary outcomes of the Physical Activity and Dietary intervention in OVArian cancer (PADOVA) trial, specifically relative dose intensity and progression-free survival.

Effective regeneration of bone defects resulting from peri-implantitis is crucial to maintaining the functionality of dental implants. The study aimed to compare the effectiveness of fine-particle dentin and Bio-Oss in the reconstruction of bone defects caused by peri-implantitis.

Methods: A list of metadata was created from a review of existing metadata catalogues and recommendations, structured interviews, a stakeholder survey, and a technical workshop. The prototype was designed to comply with the FAIR principles (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable), using MOLGENIS software.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to examine the impact of the pentraxin 3 (PTX3) serum level and angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism on the severity of radiographic pulmonary infiltrates and the clinical outcomes of COVID-19.
Methods: The severity of COVID-19 pulmonary infiltrates was evaluated within a week of admission by analyzing chest X-rays (CXR) using the modified Brixia (MBrixa) scoring system. The insertion (I)/deletion (D) polymorphism of the gene and the serum levels of PTX3 were determined for all patients included in the study.

Purpose/objectives: Rectal spacers have been shown to reduce rectal side effects in patients receiving prostate radiation. However, concerns remain regarding precise and reproducible gel injection. We evaluated efficacy and safety of a novel rectoprostatic spacer balloon that allows potential for controlled, adaptable deployment.

In recent years, attention has been paid to potential relationships between periodontitis and various hematological disorders. This publication aims to present information available in the literature on this relationship, focusing on examples of red blood cell disorders (such as aplastic anemia and sickle cell anemia) and white blood cell disorders (such as cyclic neutropenia, maladaptive trained immunity, clonal hematopoiesis, leukemia, and multiple myeloma).

To address this, occupational exoskeletons can be designed to provide meaningful support to the back and shoulders during lifting movements. This paper introduces the main functional design features of the OmniSuit, a novel passive occupational exoskeleton.
