Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations like the common L858R and exon 19 deletions are well studied, but rarer mutations like exon 19 insertions have received less attention. This case report describes a patient with this uncommon EGFR exon 19 insertion mutation in metastatic lung adenocarcinoma. A 51-year-old male nonsmoker with metastatic lung adenocarcinoma and a rare EGFR exon 19 insertion mutation experienced disease progression on initial carboplatin-pemetrexed chemotherapy.

Introduction: Thymic epithelial tumors represent the most common cause of anterior mediastinal masses in adults. Among these tumors, thymomas constitute the majority, whereas thymic carcinomas are less prevalent and associated with a poorer prognosis. This study seeks to investigate the clinical and prognostic factors of these rare entities, thymoma, and thymic carcinomas.

Background: Biliary tract cancers are serious diseases and new biomarkers may be useful for the optimal management and prediction of these cases. This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic significance of the hemoglobin, albumin, lymphocyte, and platelet (HALP) score, a novel composite marker, in patients with metastatic biliary tract cancer.
Methods: Patients with biliary tract cancers were analyzed retrospectively.
Introduction: Pembrolizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody IgG4 programmed cell death protein 1 antagonist, and its use in oncology has been increasing in recent years, providing durable and favorable responses and tolerable toxicity profiles in various types of cancer. We describe a case of pembrolizumab related perforated appendicitis in a patient with stage 3C malignant melanoma (MM).
Case Report: A 70-year-old male patient who had no known disease was diagnosed with MM as a result of the excision of the mass on his right shoulder.
Introduction: Locoregional gastric cancer is a still serious problem and perioperative treatments may improve the success of management. Different regimens were examined. The present study purposed to compare the efficacy of fluorouracil-leucovorin-oxaliplatin-docetaxel (FLOT) and docetaxel-cisplatin-fluorouracil (DCF) regimens.

Determining, developing, strengthening, and maintaining the perception of self-efficacy in children with epilepsy facilitates the child's disease management and their ability to cope with it. This study aimed to assess the impact of epilepsy-related parental fears during the COVID-19 period on the seizure self-efficacy of their children.

The aim of the study was to investigate the sociodemographic and pathological characteristics, treatment options, and factors affecting overall survival (OS) in CUP patients whose primary tumor was not detected during follow-up.
Materials And Methods: A total of 243 CUP patients whose primary tumors could not be detected during follow-up were included in the study.
Objective: To define the clinical, histopathological features and the prognostic factors affecting survival in patients with adult granulosa cell tumors of the ovary (AGCT).
Methods: A 322 patients whose final pathologic outcome was AGCT treated at nine tertiary oncology centers between 1988 and 2021 participated in the study.
Results: The mean age of the patients was 51.
Introduction: Pathologic response (PathR) by histopathologic assessment of resected specimens may be an early clinical end point associated with long-term outcomes with neoadjuvant therapy. Digital pathology may improve the efficiency and precision of PathR assessment. LCMC3 (NCT02927301) evaluated neoadjuvant atezolizumab in patients with resectable NSCLC and reported a 20% major PathR rate.

To replace chemotherapy with an approach that will enhance vaccine efficacy and antitumor immunity, we treated patients with p53MVA in combination with PD-1 checkpoint blocker, pembrolizumab. We also attempted to further characterize the activation status of T cells prior to vaccination and during treatment.

The development of heart failure after cabozantinib initiation is an extremely rare side effect, with only four case reports published in the literature. We describe a case of cabozantinib-induced cardiac failure in a patient with thyroid cancer refractory to standard treatment.

Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), neutrophil-platelet score (NPS), and systemic inflammation index (SII) in Ewing sarcoma patients in which risk groups are still not clearly defined.
Methods And Results: A total of 64 patients were evaluated retrospectively.
Introduction: This study aims to report the efficacy and safety of capecitabine plus temozolomide (CAPTEM) across different lines of treatment in patients with metastatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs).
Methods: We conducted a multicenter retrospective study analyzing the data of 308 patients with metastatic NETs treated with CAPTEM between 2010 and 2022 in 34 different hospitals across various regions of Turkey.
Results: The median follow-up time was 41.

Introduction: Hepatotoxicity is observed due to cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK4/6) inhibitors used to treat hormone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer. However, it should not be ignored that denosumab may be hepatotoxic, although it is rare.
Case Report: A 73-year-old female patient with breast cancer with axillary lymph node, adrenal gland and bone metastases was started on ribociclib letrozole and denosumab treatment.
Objective: Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) originate from the diffuse neuroendocrine cell system and constitute a heterogeneous group of tumors exhibiting diverse clinical and biological characteristics. NENs include well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs). In the present study, we performed a retrospective analysis of patients diagnosed with NET to evaluate clinicopathological characteristics, treatment and outcomes.

Objective: To determine the PNI's prognostic effect of prognostic nutritional index (PNI) on operated papilla vateri tumor (PVT) survival.
Study Design: Descriptive study.
Place And Duration Of Study: Department of Medical Oncology, Ankara City Hospital, Ankara, Turkey, from April 2003 to December 2020.
Background: We aimed to evaluate the correlation between MKK4 expression and clinicopathological features, KRAS/NRAS mutation in colorectal cancer.
Methods: MKK4 expression was assessed by immunoreactivity score (IRS). Staining intensity(SI) and percentage of positively stained cells (PP) were used for IRS (IRS = SI×PP).
Background: Vaccination of cancer patients with p53-expressing modified vaccinia Ankara virus (p53MVA) has shown in our previous studies to activate p53-reactive T cells in peripheral blood but without immediate clinical benefit. We hypothesized that the immunological responses to p53MVA vaccine may require additional immune checkpoint blockade to achieve clinically beneficial levels. We therefore conducted a phase I trial evaluating the combination of p53MVA and pembrolizumab (anti-PD-1) in patients with advanced solid tumors.

Adoptive cell therapy (ACT) employing ex vivo-generated tumor antigen-specific CD8+ T cells shows tumor efficacy when the transferred cells possess both effector and memory functions. New strategies based on understanding of mechanisms that balance CD8+ T cell differentiation toward effector and memory responses are highly desirable. Emerging information confirms a central role for antigen-induced metabolic reprogramming in CD8+ T cell differentiation and clonal expansion.
