For the period from 2000 through 2007 there were 27 patients treated for lesions of extrahepatic bile ducts of different genesis. Since all the lesions were high, we have formed biliodigestive anastomoses on the exchangeable transhepatic drains by the method of Groetz-Saypol-Kurian. In a month after the operation and a standard management of the exchangeable transhepatic drains we departed from the classical technique and applied nonperforated drains.

Studied was an effect of pentoxyfilline on systemic and cerebral haemodynamics in 33 patients with discirculatory encephalopathy in the presence of atherosclerotic lesion of the precerebral arteries, with the aid of dye-dilution methods using Evans blue (T-1824) and ultrasonic dopplerography. Pentoxyfilline was found to be associated with significant reduction of the circulating blood volume at the expense of its globular fraction, diminution of the cardiac and stroke work indices; the drug has only minor effects on the peripheral vascular resistance and linear velocity of bloodflow in the precerebral arteries; it makes for an increased number of cases of eukinetic type of blood circulation and causes regression of subjective neurologic symptomatology. On account of its antihypertensive and cardiodepressive effect the drug is contraindicated in patients with low AP and hypokinetic type of systemic haemodynamics.

The screening of 709 subjects of both sexes, aged from 16 to 64 years, representing samples from unorganized population was conducted to determine the critical level of body mass index as a criterion for current preventive dietary measures. Anthropometric studies were made, standard questionnaire was used to detect chest pains, ECG at rest was recorded in 12 standard leads using the Minnesota Code. Glucose level in the capillary blood was estimated with the use of "Glucoscot", the levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL cholesterol in the blood serum was assayed in AA-2 ("Technicon").

Comparative analysis of the CSF and blood protein-peptide composition in Parkinsonian patients performed with the aid of indwelled electrodes prior to and after therapeutic electrical stimulation (TES) of the brain subcortical structures, revealed a therapeutic effect in the form of reduced muscular rigidity and a mental activation with a positive emotional response. After the TES the protein content in the biological fluids tended to become normalized and the the range of low-molecular protein-peptide fractions changed. A high-performance liquid chromatography, bidimensional electrophoresis and thin-layer chromatography revealed about 5-6 factors of peptide nature with the molecular mass less than 5000 daltons in the CSF and blood after the TES.
