Histochemical evidence of the activity and distribution of glycolysis redox enzymes, tissue respiration and terminal oxidation pattern (dehydrogenase of lactic, malic, succinic and isocitric acids, NAD-N- and NADPh-N-ase, cytochrome oxidase) as well as the levels of the major carbohydrates (glycogen, neutral aminopolysaccharides, glucose) were experimentally studied in the cardiomyocytes of myocardial necrotic, perinecrotic and intact areas in the control and in the experimental material under the administration of terrilitin-nicotinic acid mixture. It was stated that the use of aforementioned mixture contributed to the retention of enzymatic activity and optimal levels of energy formation in the cardiomyocytes of the marginal infarction zone and noticeably prevented the destructive involvement of the considered area as well as the impairment of functional activity of oscillating cardiomyocytes. Therefore, the application of the mixture improved the outcome prognosis in acute myocardial infarction.

In group 1 (23 patients) tumors consisted of undifferentiated cells and of those with distinct ultrastructural signs of differentiation characteristic of the epidermis and skin appendages. Tumors of group 2 (6 cases) were formed of undifferentiated cells only.

Analysis of these features, though not identified by routine histological methods, has revealed in 14 cancer cases epidermal histogenesis, in 9 cases cancer originated from the epithelium of hair follicles and in the other 6 cases the tumours contained cells with characteristics of epidermal keratocytes, and of cells from the tunica externa of hair follicles. In 8 out of 29 tumours the authors could not find cells with ultrastructural features of differentiated keratinocytes.

It is established that the cells of which the tumours are formed, retain a number of tissue- and cell-specific features of the epidermis and skin appendages cells. 4 groups of undifferentiated basal-cell carcinoma are distinguished on the basis of this study that histogenetically are connected with the cells of epidermis, hair follicle, secretory parts of the eccrine sweat or sebaceous glands respectively.
