Methods: PRs dataset, composed of 117 subjects with distomolar teeth and 146 subjects without distomolar teeth, was constructed.

The Effects of Carvacrol on Transient Receptor Potential (TRP) Channels in an Animal Model of Parkinson's Disease.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of carvacrol (CA), a widely used phytochemical having anti-oxidant and neuroprotective effects, on transient receptor potential (TRP) channels in an animal model of Parkinson's disease (PD). A total of 64 adult male Spraque-Dawley rats were divided into four groups: sham-operated, PD animal model (unilateral intrastriatal injections of 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA), 6 µg/µl), PD + vehicle (dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)) treatment, and PD + CA treatment (10 mg/kg, every other day, for 14 days). Half of the brain samples of substantia nigra pars compacta (SNpc) and striatum (CPu) were collected for immunohistochemistry and the remaining half were used for molecular analyses.

The role of proactive personality and general self-efficacy in proactive career behavior: a mediation model.

The current study examined the mediating role of general self-efficacy in the relationship between university students' proactive career behavior and their proactive personality. The participants of the study consisted of 457 university students in Turkey. The Proactive Personality Scale-Short Form, the General Self-Efficacy Scale, and the Career Engagement Scale were used as data collection tools.

Investigation of the Antiviral Effects of Saussurea lappa Root Extract against SARS-CoV-2 Virus.

Scope: The purpose of this study was to look into the antiviral activity of a plant extract derived from the roots of the Saussurea lappa as a food supplement against SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Proximal Tibiofibular Joint Arthrodesis Due to Recurrent Giant Ganglion Cyst Causing Peroneal Nerve Palsy.

Ganglion cysts are masses that we encounter frequently in our daily practice, usually in the upper extremity, less frequently in the lower extremities, and rarely cause compression symptoms. We present a case of a massive ganglion cyst of the lower limb causing peroneal nerve compression, managed with excision and proximal tibiofibular joint arthrodesis to prevent recurrence. Examination and radiological imaging of a 45-year-old female patient who was admitted to our clinic showed new-onset weakness in right foot movements and numbness on the dorsum of the foot and lateral cruris, a mass consistent with a ganglion cyst expanding the muscle was detected in the peroneus longus muscle.

Although there is currently no effective treatment for neurodegenerative diseases, new treatment strategies need to be developed urgently. Among neurotrophins, BDNF has been extensively investigated, and it has emerged as an important regulator of synaptic plasticity, neuronal survival, and differentiation.

Computer-assisted assessment of ovarian echotexture parameters in mares following changes after ovulation determined by ultrasonography.

This study was carried out to determine the time-dependent changes in the ultrasonographic image of the ovary with computer-assisted analysis programs at certain intervals after ovulation and to determine whether computer-assisted analysis programs and ovulation programs can be managed in cases where the ovulation time is unknown. The study included 40 purebred Arab mares. The study was subdivided into 4 different time periods of 6 (Group 1), 12 (Group 2), 18 (Group 3) and 24 (Group 4) hours following ovulation.

Internet access and its role on educational inequality during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This study investigates the determinants of Internet access and its effect on educational inequality in OECD countries during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic. The spatial panel data model is used to include the neighborhood in the model relating to educational inequality. The findings from the study reveal that despite the increase in Internet access during the Covid-19 period, the response to the pandemic has caused education inequalities.

The event related P300 potentials, positive waveforms in electroencephalography (EEG) signals, are often utilized in brain computer interfaces (BCI). Many studies have been carried out to improve the performance of P300 speller systems either by developing signal processing algorithms and classifiers with different architectures or by designing new paradigms. In this study, a new paradigm is proposed for this purpose.

Effects of SGLT2 inhibitors on patients with diabetic kidney disease: A preliminary study on the basis of podocyturia.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of sodium glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) on the glomerulus through the evaluation of podocyturia in patients with diabetic kidney disease (DKD).

Methods: The study population was composed of 40 male patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus; 22 of them received SGLT2i (SGLT2i group), and the others who did not were the control. The DKD-related parameters of patients were monitored before SGLT2i initiation, and then in the third and sixth month of the follow-up period.

Fear of COVID-19 lead to procrastination among Turkish university students: The mediating role of intolerance of uncertainty.

Background: The COVID-19 outbreak has not only increased mortality but has also negatively affected mental health among populations across the world. Furthermore, individuals are experiencing uncertainty about their current and future situation because of the pandemic. Therefore, the present study investigated the mediating role of intolerance of uncertainty in the relationship between fear of COVID-19 and procrastination among a sample of Turkish university students.
