Lattice Radiotherapy (LRT) is a technique in which heterogeneous doses are delivered to the target so large tumors can have optimal doses of radiation without compromising healthy tissue sparing. To date, case reports and case series documented its application for bulky tumors mainly in the pelvic region. LRT not only provides dosimetric advantages but also promotes tumor control by triggering some radiobiological and immunological pathways.

First experiences with a new balloon-expandable Myval transcatheter aortic valve: a preliminary study.

Background: In the present article, we present our first experiences with a new type of balloon-expandable Myval valve (Meril Life Sciences, Gujarat, India).

This study examines the postulates of the Rejection Identification Model (RIM) and Rejection Disidentification Model (RDIM) in a sample of 314 ethnic Turks from Bulgaria who migrated to Turkey. We investigate the intervening roles of immigrant and citizen identifications between perceived discrimination and the outcome variables (well-being and out-group evaluations). The results indicate that perceived discrimination predicts negative affect and out-group evaluations.

Purpose: Despite new treatment options in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), new prognostic markers are still needed to determine optimal chemoregimen especially for anti-angiogenesis drugs. A case of laryngeal atresia accompanied by persistent pharyngotracheal ductus.

Laryngeal atresia is generally a fatal congenital anomaly with an incidence of 1: 50,000 births. This congenital anomaly is a condition of multifactorial inheritance, in which the fetus has a dilated trachea, enlarged echogenic lungs, an inverted or flattened diaphragm, fetal hydrops, and ascites. Diagnosis is usually made when there is failure to perform endotracheal intubation in a neonate with severe respiratory distress and absence of audible cry.

Effects of Lycopene in Hyperoxia-Induced Lung Injury in Newborn Rats.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic effect of lycopene on a hyperoxia-induced lung injury model in rat pups. Full-term rat pups were included in the study 12-24 h after delivery. The pups were separated into 4 groups: normoxia control (NC), hyperoxia control (HC), hyperoxia + lycopene (HL), and normoxia lycopene (NL).

Association of Aortic Valve Sclerosis and Clinical Factors in Patients With Acute Myocardial Infarction.

Background: Since aortic valve sclerosis (AVS) and coronary artery disease (CAD) share similar cardiovascular risk factors, we hypothesized that the clinical profile of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) would be worse in the presence of AVS. Patients who have secondary pseudohypoaldosteronism (PHA) in addition to hyponatraemia, hyperpotassaemia and high serum aldosterone levels for the age were included in this retrospective study.Among eight patients, seven patients were diagnosed with PHA secondary to obstructive uropathy (OUP), whereas one patient had PHA secondary to ileostomy. Six patients with OUP had simultaneous urinary tract infection (UTI) and in all except one patient, secondary PHA recovered with only UTI treatment before applying surgical correction.

The value of syntax score to predict new-onset atrial fibrillation in patients with acute coronary syndrome.
