[The morbidity with temporary disability and its regional characteristics in the Russian Federation in 2000-2018].

The article presents the results of analysis of dynamics of morbidity of working population with temporary disability in the Russian Federation in 2000-2018 according its causes, assessment of gender and age differences and in the context of Federal Okrugs and subjects The Russian Federation. The significant changes in rate and duration of temporary disability indices on National and Regional levels are considered. The absence of differences in structure of causes and average duration of morbidity with temporary disability is analyzed.

Noncompaction cardiomyopathy is caused by a novel in-frame desmin (DES) deletion mutation within the 1A coiled-coil rod segment leading to a severe filament assembly defect.

Mutations in DES, encoding desmin protein, are associated with different kinds of skeletal and/or cardiac myopathies. However, it is unknown, whether DES mutations are associated with left ventricular hypertrabeculation (LVHT). Here, we performed a clinical examination and subsequent genetic analysis in a family, with two individuals presenting LVHT with conduction disease and skeletal myopathy.

Treatment failure and costs in patients with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) skin and soft tissue infections: a South Texas Ambulatory Research Network (STARNet) study.

Objective: To measure the incidence of treatment failure and associated costs in patients with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs).

Methods: This was a prospective, observational study in 13 primary care clinics. Primary care providers collected clinical data, wound swabs, and 90-day follow-up information.

Ultrasonic visualization of the posterior thoracic aorta in long axis: diagnosis of a saccular mycotic aneurysm.

A saccular aneurysm arising from the descending thoracic aorta was identified ultrasonically in a 60-year-old man with a subsequent pathologic diagnosis of a Listeria monocytogenes mycotic aneurysm. A cross-sectional scanning technique, which permitted visualization of the descending thoracic aorta in long axis, demonstrated a 3 X 5 cm relatively echo-free mass between the heart and the aorta. A communication between the mass and the aorta established the diagnosis of an aneurysm.
