This paper illustrates the use of mixture of experts (ME) network structure to guide model selection for diagnosis of two subtypes of adult hydrocephalus (normal-pressure hydrocephalus-NPH and aqueductal stenosis-AS). The ME is a modular neural network architecture for supervised learning.
