Article Synopsis
  • - Peyronie's disease (PD) is a common non-cancerous condition that causes fibrous scar tissue in the penis, leading to curvature, often triggered by minor trauma during sex and inflammation.
  • - PD has two phases: acute, where pain is noticeable whether the penis is erect or flaccid, and chronic; surgery is not recommended during the acute phase due to risks of worsening the condition.
  • - Current treatment combines various methods like oral medications, shock wave therapy, and traction devices, but more research through large randomized trials is needed to identify the most effective approach for treating acute PD.

Hydrocalyx is the obstruction of a renal calyx resulting from infundibulopelvic stenosis or diminution and can be congenital or acquired. During follow-up four months after transplantation, a transplant biopsy was performed, which revealed acute thrombotic microangiopathy.

Computing has undergone a significant transformation over the past two decades, shifting from a machine-based approach to a human-centric, virtually invisible service known as ubiquitous or pervasive computing. This change has been achieved by incorporating small embedded devices into a larger computational system, connected through networking and referred to as edge devices. When these devices are also connected to the Internet, they are generally named Internet-of-Thing (IoT) devices.

In this paper, we present the results of a performance evaluation and optimization process of an indoor positioning system (IPS) designed to operate on portable as well as miniaturized embedded systems. The proposed method uses the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) values from multiple Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) beacons scattered around interior spaces. The beacon signals were received from the user devices and processed through an RSSI filter and a group of machine learning (ML) models, in an arrangement of one model per detected node.

Background/aim: Papillary Thyroid Cancer (PTC) is the most common type of endocrine malignancy. Although PTC has an excellent prognosis, the recurrent or metastatic disease could affect patients' survival. Recent studies show that Histone Deacetylase Inhibitors (HDACIs) might be promising anticancer agents against PTC.
