Hair follicle units promote re-epithelialization in chronic cutaneous wounds: A clinical case series study.

Chronic cutaneous wounds are one of the most unfavorable pathophysiological processes in routine practice. However, developments in hair follicle unit therapy may aid the treatment of these wounds. The aim of the present study was to investigate the function of hair follicle units in chronic cutaneous wound re-epithelialization and to develop an effective protocol for wound treatment.

X609, a novel manassantin A derivative, exhibits antitumor activity in MG-63 human osteosarcoma cells in vitro and in vivo.

Manassantin A has been well-established as an inhibitor of HIF-1. In the present study, a new manasantin A derivative, X609, with decreased stereochemical complexity, rendering it amenable to a simplified synthesis scheme, was synthesized and was found to increase HIF-1 inhibitory activity. X609 exhibited antiproliferative activity in a broad spectrum of tumor cell lines, via HIF-1-dependent mechanisms.

P-glycoprotein (P-gp) overexpression and tumor stem cells are thought to be important factors in the cross-resistance of cancer cells. There have been no studies on whether diallyl trisulfide (DATS) can reverse drug resistance in human osteosarcoma cells. In the present study, we demonstrated that DATS down-regulated P-gp expression and reversed drug resistance.
