In this study, the surface of zirconia-reinforced lithium disilicate glass-ceramic was treated using different methods (conventional and laser) to determine the effects of the treatment procedures on the surface properties and surface roughness to achieve a higher strength of adhesion from the self-adhesive resin cement to zirconia-reinforced lithium disilicate. Materials And Methods: Eighty-four zirconium reinforced lithium disilicate disc Vita suprinity (Vita Zahnfabrick, Bad Säckingen, Germany) 14x12x2 mm specimens were fabricated according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The specimens were embedded in acrylic resin blocks and randomly divided in seven groups (n=12/each) accorrding to the treatment: Group 1- 10% hydrofluoric acid; Group 2- silane; Group 3- hydrofluoric and silane; Group 4- sandblasting with silane; Group 5- Er: YAG laser+ silane; Group 6- Nd: YAG laser + silane; and the control group, in which the specimens were not treated.

Objective: The description of clinical manifestation of hearing problems in cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) remains limited and incomplete, since CCD constitutes a rare congenital disorder. The study aims to provide a complex panel analysis of the auditory system in patients suffering from the disease.
Patients And Methods: The study group consisted of 4 children with CCD (aged: 12-15), who underwent orthodontic treatment.
Background: The MyCode Community Health Initiative (MyCode) is returning actionable results from whole exome sequencing. Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is an inherited condition characterized by premature cardiovascular disease.
Methods: We used multiple methods to assess care in 28 MyCode participants who received FH results.
Two-hybrid systems allow for the identification of proteins that physically interact in the context of biological processes. In the cases where these proteins interact with DNA it is essential to define their binding properties with specific regions of the genome to shed light on the intricate gene regulatory networks that modulate the biological response of interest. The chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) protocol described here provides a powerful means to identify the DNA-binding sites of transcription factors, proteins involved in chromatin remodeling processes, or histone marks that modulate gene expression in eukaryotes and specifically in plants like the model species Arabidopsis thaliana.

Additionally, we have observed the effect of GBP on the immune status in the acute stress response to surgery.
Methods: Sixty patients scheduled for an abdominal hysterectomy were randomly assigned to the GBP administration 1h before surgery (n=30 pts), or to the placebo group (n=30 pts).

Methods: The IRS and DBT were measured (before and after denture relining) in the case of 74 patients and their removable dental prostheses by using a precise sliding gauge.
Aim: To reveal patients' satisfaction with their old, usually poorly fitting dentures and the effect of denture relining to the patient's satisfaction.
Methods: Thirty seven denture wearers participated in study by filling out questionnaires about their satisfaction with dentures before and after relining. In that way the data indicating the subjective patient's experience and satisfaction were collected.
