[Results of the combined treatment of cancer of the cardial region of the stomach (a cooperative, randomized study)].

Immediate and long-term results of treatment of cancer of the proximal part of the stomach were compared in two groups of patients: (1) surgery and (2) combined treatment (preoperative Co-60 teletherapy + radical surgery). The patients were randomly assigned to the treatment schedules. The study was cooperative.

[Remote results of combined treatment of operable stomach cancer].

The rationale of using preoperative radiotherapy as an adjunct in the combination therapy of gastric cancer is discussed. 102 patients mostly with the process in stage III (91) were treated. The analysis made enabled the authors to reveal a significant increase of resectability in a group of patients receiving distant gammatherapy.

[Rehabilitative and supportive therapy for oncologic patients].

The results of treatment in 674 oncological patients in a special department of accessory therapy have been studied. The patients admitted were previously subjected to various kinds of radical surgery. The analysis has evidenced that due to a careful dynamic exploration of patients and pathogenetic therapy with a protective regimen and labor therapy, the results of surgical treatment in patients with cancer of the stomach, lung and mammary gland were found to be considerably improved.
