Rotor shafts are the most heavily loaded and accident-prone parts of powerful turbine generators, which are cooled using hydrogen. To eliminate damage sustained during operations, repair work was carried out, including the removal of defective parts, surfacing, and turning. This study tested the machinability of the rotor shaft using prototypes made from 38KhN3MFA steel.

With the developments in nanotechnology, the elaborate regulation of microstructure shows attractive potential in the design of new composite materials. Herein, composite materials composed of graphene network filled with metal nanoparticles are analyzed to optimize the fabrication process and mechanical properties. In the present work, molecular dynamic simulations are used to analyze the possibility of obtaining a composite structure with Ni-decorated graphene.

Background: In Russia, the following two questionnaires are mainly used to study the burnout syndrome: Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and Boyko's Burnout Inventory (BBI). Despite the fact that the questionnaires are based on different theoretical models and composition of the scales, they evaluate essentially the same construct. A few published sources provide data on correlations between the results of measuring burnout using these methods.

Objective: To evaluate surgical and oncological results of standard and extended lymph node dissection (D2 and D3) in patients with colon cancer.

Material And Methods: We analyzed treatment outcomes in 74 patients with colon cancer stage T1-4aN0-2M0 who underwent right- and left-sided hemicolectomy, resection of sigmoid colon with standard and extended lymph node dissection (D2 and D3).

Results: Surgical approach and level of D3 lymph node dissection did not increase intra- and postoperative morbidity.

Article Synopsis
  • Three new species of cave-dwelling Ephippiochthonius were identified in the karst caves of Abkhazia, marking the first for this genus in the Caucasus region.
  • The study discusses important taxonomic features, particularly the placement of certain setae on the chela, which helps clarify the classification within the tetrachelatus-group.
  • Additionally, new classifications are introduced, renaming previously identified Ephippiochthonius species to Occidenchthonius, with examples from Serbia and Romania.

Mites of the genus (Acari: Acaridae) are distributed worldwide; they inhabit concealed habitats and include several beneficial and economically important species. However, species identification is difficult because many species are poorly described or delimited and their phoretic stages are unknown or uncorrelated. Furthermore, is interesting because it includes entirely asexual (parthenogenetic) species.
