Type II Diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and associated complications primarily diabetic retinopathy cases are rising with an alarming rate. Prolong hyperglycemia along with the aldose reductase (AR) activity play a pivotal role in the development of oxidative stress in the aqueous humor and diabetic retinopathy. AR catalyzes conversion of glucose into sorbitol and or fructose get diffuse into lens leading to impaired electrolyte balance and cataract formation.

The TG, DTG and DTA curves were recorded at the 25-1400 degrees C in the dynamic air atmosphere by TG/DTA analyser. The infrared evolved gas analysis was obtained on the FTIR spectrometer.

Short-term uptake of cadmium by a wild-type (2137) and a cell wall-less strain (CW-2) of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was examined as a function of Cd speciation in a well-defined, aqueous medium. Internalization fluxes were determined for free cadmium concentrations ranging from 5 x 10(-10) M to 5 x 10(-4) M in the presence of ligands forming both labile and inert hydrophilic complexes. A first-order biological internalization, as predicted by the free ion activity model (FIAM), was observed for both strains.

The methods developed were based on microwave-assisted, vapor-phase digestion using quartz inserts inside the digestion vessels, followed by instrumental determination. Iron was determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS) and palladium by direct current plasma optical emission spectrometry (DCP-OES).

The lesions were noted at birth and subsequently enlarged to the point that they interfered with eating. The left lesion ruptured but persisted as an exophytic fibrotic mass.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA case of an unusually large mandibular ameloblastoma is reported in which standard radiologic examination failed to provide adequate visualization of the tumor's limits because of overlapping structures and the presence of compound shadows. Computed tomography imaging and three-dimensional reconstruction proved invaluable in the treatment planning of this large lesion, because it allowed the surgeon to visualize and comprehend the geography of the tumor and its relationship to surrounding structures and soft tissues and to formulate a surgical plan. Use of this technique helped ensure complete excision of the tumor without excessive removal of uninvolved tissue.
