The significance of microorganisms occurring in foods is predominantly targeted due to their application for identifying a novel range of the bacterial spectrum. Diverse microbial species are capable of exhibiting potential pharmacological activities like antimicrobial and anticancer. Microbial strains capable of reducing obesity-related syndromes have also been reported.

Unlabelled: The metabolite profiles of two plant growth promoting cyanobacteria- and , which serve as promising biofertilizers, and biocontrol agents were generated to investigate their agriculturally beneficial activities. Preliminary biochemical analyses, in terms of total chlorophyll, total proteins, and IAA were highest at 14 days after inoculation (DAI). In 20-25% higher values of reducing sugars, than at both 14 and 21 DAI were recorded.

Diazotrophic cyanobacteria are known to influence nutrient availability in soil, however, their benefits under elevated CO environment, particularly on fruit quality attributes, is a less investigated aspect. Laboratory developed cyanobacterium-fungal biofilm (An-Tr), composed of (An) as the matrix with the partner as (Tr), along with the individual partners were evaluated under ambient (aCO-400 ± 50 ppm) and elevated (eCO-700 ± 50 ppm) conditions, with and without tomato plants. An-Tr inoculation exhibited distinct and significantly higher values for most of the soil microbiological parameters, plant growth attributes and antioxidant/defense enzyme activities measured at 30 and 60 DAI (days after inoculation).

The distribution of various collagen types was studied in rat fibrosarcoma. Collagens extracted from fibrosarcoma tissue were characterized by the criteria of solubility in NaCl, SDS-PAGE, ion exchange chromatography, CNBr peptide mapping and amino acid analysis. Fibrosarcoma was found to produce excess amount of type V, type I trimer and type III collagens; comparatively, type I collagen and total collagen content were noticed to decrease in fibrosarcoma.
