Adoptive cell therapy with tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) can mediate tumor regression, including complete and durable responses, in a range of solid cancers, most notably in melanoma. However, its wider application and efficacy has been restricted by the limited accessibility, proliferative capacity and effector function of tumor-specific TIL. Here, we develop a platform for the efficient identification of tumor-specific TCR genes from diagnostic tumor biopsies, including core-needle biopsies frozen in a non-viable format, to enable engineered T cell therapy.

Radiological incidental findings (IFs) are previously undetected abnormalities which are unrelated to the original indication for imaging and are unexpectedly discovered. In brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the prevalence of IFs is increasing. By reviewing the literature on IFs in brain MRI performed for research purposes and discussing ethical considerations of IFs, this paper provides an overview of brain IF research results and factors contributing to inconsistencies and considers how the consent process can be improved from an ethical perspective.

Background: Hyperthermia treatment planning can be supportive to ensure treatment quality, provided reliable prediction of the heating characteristics (i.e., focus size and effects of phase-amplitude and frequency steering) of the device concerned is possible.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between nail and scalp involvement and other covariates with psoriatic arthritis (PsA). This cross-sectional study, conducted from June 2021 through December 2021, included 763 patients from 11 different centers in Turkey.

Purpose: The combined effect of hyperthermia and radiation therapy can be quantified by an enhanced equivalent radiation dose (EQD). Uncertainties in hyperthermia treatment planning and adjustments during treatment can impact achieved EQD. We developed and compared strategies for EQD optimization of radiation therapy plans, focusing on robustness against common adjustments.

The current study aims to evaluate the characteristics and audiological results in patients with severe-to-profound mixed hearing loss fitted with this superpower sound processor.
Methods: This retrospective evaluation was conducted at a tertiary referral centre where a series of 82 adult patients with severe-to-profound mixed hearing loss were implanted with a percutaneous bone-anchored hearing system and fitted with a superpower sound processor between 2016 and 2019.
Background: Pediatric community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) can lead to long-term respiratory sequelae, including bronchiectasis. We determined if an extended (13-14 days) versus standard (5-6 days) antibiotic course improves long-term outcomes in children hospitalized with CAP from populations at high risk of chronic respiratory disease.
Methods: We undertook a multicenter, double-blind, superiority, randomized controlled trial involving 7 Australian, New Zealand, and Malaysian hospitals.
Objectives: Aneurysm number (An) is a novel prediction tool utilizing parameters of pulsatility index (PI) and aneurysm geometry. An has been shown to have the potential to differentiate intracranial aneurysm (IA) rupture status. The objective of this study is to investigate the feasibility and accuracy of An for IA rupture status prediction using Australian based clinical data.

Assessing the time course of molecular changes can provide insight into the progression of muscle wasting post-SCI. The goals of this study were (1) to identify potential targets that may prevent the pathologic features of SCI in soleus muscles and (2) to establish therapeutic windows for treating these pathologic changes.

Materials And Methods: A comprehensive electronic search of PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, Google Scholar, and Cochrane databases from 2000 to 2022 was performed using the search terms "renal artery," "aneurysm," and "endovascular." Means of outcome measures were calculated with a primary end point focused on RAA-related mortality and rupture.
To improve hyperthermia in clinical practice, pre-clinical hyperthermia research is essential to investigate hyperthermia effects and assess novel treatment strategies. Translating pre-clinical hyperthermia findings into clinically viable protocols requires laboratory animal treatment techniques similar to clinical hyperthermia techniques. The ALBA micro8 electromagnetic heating system (Med-logix SRL, Rome, Italy) has recently been developed to provide the targeted locoregional tumour heating currently lacking for pre-clinical research.

Purpose: Thermoradiotherapy combines radiation therapy with hyperthermia to increase therapeutic effectiveness. Currently, both modalities are optimized separately and in state-of-the-art research the enhanced therapeutic effect is evaluated using equivalent radiation dose in 2-Gy fractions (EQD2). This study proposes a novel thermoradiotherapy treatment planning framework with voxelwise EQD2 radiation therapy optimizing including thermal radiosensitization and direct thermal cytotoxicity.

Given the phenotypic heterogeneity of chronic cough, better characterization through endotyping is required to provide diagnostic certainty, precision therapies and to identify pathobiological mechanisms. This review summarizes recent endotype discoveries in airway diseases, particularly in relation to children, and describes the multi-omic approaches that are required to define endotypes.

Background: Hyperthermia treatment quality is usually evaluated by thermal (dose) parameters, though hyperthermic radiosensitization effects are also influenced by the time interval between the two modalities. This work applies biological modelling for clinical treatment evaluation of cervical cancer patients treated with radiotherapy plus hyperthermia by calculating the equivalent radiation dose (EQD, i.e.

Hepatic artery aneurysms are a rare phenomenon but their diagnosis and prompt treatment are imperative due to a high risk of mortality and complications. Appropriate management depends on patient characteristics, anatomical location of the aneurysm, operative risk and collateral arterial supply. Management options include surgical and endovascular approaches.

Purpose: Hyperthermia is a potent sensitizer of radiation therapy that improves both tumor control and survival in women with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC). The optimal sequence and interval between hyperthermia and radiation therapy are still under debate.
Methods And Materials: We investigated the interval and sequence in vitro in cervical cancer cell lines, patient-derived organoids, and SiHa cervical cancer hind leg xenografts in athymic nude mice and compared the results with retrospective results from 58 women with LACC treated with thermoradiotherapy.
Post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) is a common and potentially debilitating complication of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), affecting up to 50% of DVT patients. The consequence of this chronic condition includes reduced quality of life, increased use of the healthcare system and decreased productivity. The societal impact of this condition is projected to increase, given our ageing population and increased burden of thrombotic diseases.

Physicians may become morally injured whenever they act in a way that conflicts with deeply held, moral beliefs. Uncertainties in tissue and perfusion property values presently lead to quantitative inaccuracy of HTP, leading to sub-optimal treatment. Assessment of these uncertainties would allow for better judgement of the reliability of treatment plans and improve their value for treatment guidance.
