Granulomatous appendicitis is uncommon. It can be caused by infectious or systemic disorders, such as Crohn's disease (CD) and sarcoidosis. It is therefore essential to investigate systematic causes of granulomatous appendicitis after surgery by appropriate examinations.

Primary hepatic actinomycosis is relatively rare, but it should be remembered in the differential diagnosis of liver masses. A 66-year-old woman with right hypochondralgia was admitted and for detailed examination and treatment of a liver tumor. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed a hypoechoic lesion 55 mm in diameter in the anterior segment.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficiency of Roux-en-Y reconstruction (RY) after distal gastrectomy we compared postoperative physiological functions and disorders among patients who underwent RY, conventional Billroth I reconstruction (BI), or Billroth II reconstruction (BII).

Methods: The subjects were 91 patients who had undergone distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer more than 1 month earlier. To examine the severity of gastroesophageal reflux, acid reflux and alkali reflux were assessed, and to examine the severity of duodenal reflux into the remnant stomach, biliary scintigraphy was performed.
