Introduction: The purpose of this study was to evaluate longitudinal changes in Ki-67 indices of SI-NETs and assess the impact of these in overall survival (OS).
Methods: We screened 551 patients with SI-NETs diagnosed from 1993, through 2021, identified using the SI-NET databases from five European referral centres. Only patients with well-differentiated tumours and available baseline tumour samples and follow-up re-biopsies were included.
Context: One of the major prognostic indices in neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) is Ki67 proliferation index.
Objective: To identify optimal grading Ki67 cutoffs to delineate differences in prognosis of patients with small intestinal NETs (SI-NETs).
Methods: Multicenter retrospective cohort analysis of 551 SI-NET patients diagnosed from 1993 through 2021 at 5 European referral centers with a mean (±SD) follow-up time of 51.
Agricultural extension plays a crucial role in disseminating knowledge, empowering farmers, and advancing agricultural development. The effectiveness of these roles can be greatly improved by integrating technology. These technologies, often grouped into two categories-agricultural technology and educational technology-work together to yield the best outcomes.

A known small cell lung cancer (SCLC) biomarker is a pro-gastrin-releasing peptide (ProGRP), but not for all LNENs, especially for bronchopulmonary carcinoids. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of ProGRP and chromogranin A (CgA) in diagnosing LNENs.

A retrospective analysis of the data of patients from six tertiary referral centres was performed in order to identify the characteristics and the prognostic significance of PMs in patients with NENs. We used a control group of 69 age-, sex- and primary tumour - matched NEN patients from the same cohort with stage IV disease but no PMs.

Data management training has not fully addressed the needs of graduate students in the social sciences. To address this gap, this study used a mixed methods design to investigate the RDM awareness, preparation, confidence, and challenges of social science graduate students.

Evaluating the effectiveness of teaching methods for synchronous online instruction is integral to fostering student engagement and maximizing student learning, particularly in one-time workshops or seminars. Using the lens of social constructivism theory, this study investigated the effect of different approaches of synchronous online instruction on the development of graduate students' research data management (RDM) skills during the post-pandemic era. One experimental group received teacher-centered instruction primarily via lecture and the second experimental group received student-centered instruction with active learning activities.

We included 229 patients with stage I-III SI-NETs diagnosed from June 15, 1993, through March 8, 2021, identified using the SI-NET databases from five European referral centers. Mean ± SD age at baseline was 62.

Twin telescopes mounted within an open-aperture bucket dewar couple the sky to bolometric detector arrays. We reduce detector loading and photon noise by cooling the entire optical chain to 1.

Polarimetric cameras or receivers used in this setting often employ dielectric vacuum windows, filters, or lenses to appropriately prepare light for detection by cooled sensor arrays. These elements in the optical chain are typically designed to minimize reflective losses and hence improve sensitivity while minimizing potential imaging artifacts such as glint and ghosting.

A series of flights are intended to establish ultra-light dewar performance and open-aperture observing techniques for large (3 m-5 m diameter) cryogenic telescopes at infrared wavelengths. An initial flight in 2019 demonstrated bulk transfer of liquid nitrogen and liquid helium at stratospheric altitudes.

We aimed to evaluate the validity of currently applied criteria for completion prophylactic right hemicolectomy (pRHC) and determine its association with patient outcomes, including health-related quality of life (HRQoL).
Methods: Eligible patients from five European referral centers were divided between those who underwent appendectomy alone and those who underwent completion pRHC.

Unlabelled: The permittivity of blood glucose is not a strong function of its concentration in microwave or millimeter-wave frequencies. Measuring glucose concentrations remains a challenge, particularly in the presence of interference caused by the ambient leaky waves. In this paper, however, we demonstrate that a near-linear correlation between the glucose concentration and the blood permittivity was noticeably observed at a whispering gallery mode resonance.

New regulations for medical products complicate research projects for new application fields and translation of innovative product ideas to refundable medical products becomes a high economic risk. All this demands for a CE-marked platform, which offers the possibility to access the recorded data online or even directly the hardware during research applications, to bridge the gap. This paper describes how a CE-marked medical product can be extended by different interfaces to enable basic research or simplify first proof-of-concept studies thus optimizing prototype development in research projects, simplifying the documentation process and reducing the risk for market access.

The Primordial Inflation Polarization Explorer (PIPER) is a balloon-borne telescope mission to search for inflationary gravitational waves from the early universe. PIPER employs two 32 × 40 arrays of superconducting transition-edge sensors, which operate at 100 mK. An open bucket Dewar of liquid helium maintains the receiver and telescope optics at 1.

Purpose: Providing mobility solutions for individuals with tetraplegia remains challenging. Existing control devices have shortcomings such as varying or poor signal quality or interference with communication. To overcome these limitations, we present a novel myoelectric auricular control system (ACS) based on bilateral activation of the posterior auricular muscles (PAMs).

We present the design and performance of a non-imaging concentrator for use in broadband polarimetry at millimeter through submillimeter wavelengths. A rectangular geometry preserves the input polarization state as the concentrator couples f/2 incident optics to a 2π sr detector. Measurements of the co-polar and cross-polar beams in both the few-mode and highly over-moded limits agree with a simple model based on mode truncation.
