In this study, the performance of a novel organic tea compost developed for the first time in the world from raw tea waste from tea processing factories and enriched with worms, beneficial microorganisms, and enzymes was tested in comparison to chemical fertilizers in tea plantations in Rize and Artvin provinces, where the most intensive tea cultivation is carried out in Turkey. In the field trials, the developed organic tea vermicompost was incorporated into the root zones of the plants in the tea plantations in amounts of 1000 (OVT1), 2000 (OVT2) and 4000 (OVT4) (kg ha). The experimental design included a control group without OVT applications and positive controls with chemical fertilizers (N: P: K 25:5:10, (CF) 1200 kg ha) commonly used by local growers.

Background: This study aimed to explore the potential influence of kisspeptin (KISS1) levels on the etiology of placenta previa for early pregnancy diagnosis.
Methods: The study included 20 pregnant women diagnosed with placenta previa and 20 pregnant woman with normal pregnancies between 2021 and 2022. Plasma KISS1 levels were determined through biochemical analysis, while genetic analysis assessed KISS1 and KISS1 receptor gene expression levels.
Our objectives were to investigate the effects of exogenous melatonin on testicular volume (TV), testicular blood flow (TBF), and semen quality in Bafra rams during the non-breeding season. One group of rams (MEL, = 5) received a 36 mg melatonin implant twice, with 30 days in between, while the other group (CON, = 5) served as the control. TBF, TV, and semen quality parameters were determined at three-week intervals starting three weeks before until twelve weeks after the first melatonin implant.

Stereology studies the quantity of biological tissue using little practice and the low price of counting and preparing tissue slices to obtain direct and accurate results. Since their establishment, the stereological techniques underwent much improvement, thus allowing more precise analysis of target structures using various approaches.

Kisspeptins are hormones that interact with endometrial tissue to limit invasions during placentation and various cancers and are suggested to be also associated with endometriosis. This study evaluated if serum kisspeptin levels are associated with the invasion depth in endometriosis.

This research focused on the different approaches to the transport and internal chelation of metals with amino acids and organic acids in plants. Therefore, in the first phase, the plants studied were identified the characteristics of the bioaccumulation factors. were identified as hyperaccumulators (Cd, Ni), accumulators (Pb, Sn, and Se), excluders (Cr, Hg).

This study aimed to evaluate patient experience and disease-related awareness in MS patients through a nation-wide survey in Turkey Methods: A total of 1379 MS patients participated in this cross-sectional questionnaire survey conducted between November 2018 and December 2018. The online questionnaire form included items on sociodemographic, disease-related, first-admission, treatment and follow up characteristics as well as the disability status.

According to the available studies, the potential genotoxic impacts of this chlorinated solvent on human beings are still controversial. The present work was carried out to determine the genotoxic effects of PCE on human peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) using chromosome aberrations (CAs) and cytokinesis-block micronucleus (CBMN) tests.

Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of metformin treatment at different dosage levels on the ovaries and uteruses of rat offspring in the course of the intrauterine period.
Methods: Saline, metformin (100 mg/kg/day), and metformin (200 mg/kg/day) were administered oral gavage between the 6th and 15th days of gestation to the 9 pregnant rats ( 3/group). After birth, 5 female offspring were separated from each group and perfused on the 60th day of postnatal development.
Background: It is very common to offer low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) medications to women with unexplained habitual abortion, to increase the livebirth rate. Although no benefit from LMWH has been clearly demonstrated, examination of the effects of enoxaparin on placental structure is lacking.
Objective: To assess placental structural changes in pregnancies treated with enoxaparin, compared with controls.
Obesity is a chronic disease that is characterized by increased body fat owing to imbalance between consumed and expended energy. Inflammation generally is accompanied by accumulation of excess lipid in adipose tissue and liver. High mobility group box-1 (HMGB1) participates in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of exposure to the 900-MHz radiation electromagnetic fields (EMF) emitted by mobile phones on Ammon's horn and the dentate gyrus (DG) in the hippocampus and cerebellum of male albino rats. We also investigated the neuroprotective effects of the antioxidants (BS) and folic acid (FA) against exposure to EMF.

Eighteen rats were randomly assigned into three groups, control (Cont), EMF, and EMF + Omg-3. The EMF and EMF + Omg-3 groups both consisted of six rats exposed to an EMF of 900 MHz for 60 min/day for 15 days.

New technologies in electronics and communications are continually emerging. An increasing use of these electronic devices such as mobile phone, computer, wireless fidelity connectors or cellular towers is raising questions concerning whether they have an adverse effect on the body. Exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) is frequently suggested to have adverse health effects on humans and other organisms.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have been in use for many years and constitute a large part of prescriptions issued in daily practice. Although NSAIDs are used for many diseases in neurology, they have also been tested as a new therapeutic option for various other diseases. While their effects on headache and cerebrovascular diseases are well known, little is known about their impact on neurodegenerative diseases.
