Flap surgery is an integral part of plastic surgery, and ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury significantly affects the viability of the flap. Carvedilol (CRV), a nonselective beta-blocker with alpha-1 blocking and antioxidant properties, and known for its potential in reducing I/R damage, was chosen as the active substance for our study. The aim of this study was to investigate the vasodilator and antioxidant effects of CRV on rat inferior epigastric artery skin flap using orally disintegrating tablets (ODTs).

Objectives: Our goal is to investigate the link between (rs2285666) and (rs14035430) gene polymorphisms in COVID-19 patients with and without lung involvement.
Injectable, tissue mimetic, bioactive, and biodegradable hydrogels offer less invasive regeneration and repair of tissues. The monitoring swelling and in vitro degradation capacities of hydrogels are highly important for drug delivery and tissue regeneration processes. Bioactivity of bone tissue engineered constructs in terms of mineralized apatite formation capacity is also pivotal.

Cationic ring-opening polymerization of 2-ethyl oxazoline yielded poly (2-ethyl oxazoline) (oligoEtOx) with a hydroxyl end. Carboxylic acid-terminated PHB was reacted with oligoEtOx via dicyclohexylcarbodiimide chemistry to obtain PHB-b-oligoEtOx conjugates.

Methods: Fifty male Sprague Dawley rats (250-300 g) were divided into five groups: control (C), sham (S), ischemia (I), ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) and hesperidin + ischemia-reperfusion (Hes + I/R). Hesperidin was injected intraperitoneally at the dose of 100 mg/kg one hour before the experimental stomach ischemia-reperfusion.
In our study, we aimed to examine possible prophylactic (P) or therapeutic (T) effects of boric acid (BA) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced liver and kidney damages. Thirty-two rats were divided into four groups as control, LPS, BAP+LPS, and LPS+BAT. BA was given orally to the rats one hour before the intraperitoneal LPS administration in the BAP+LPS group and one hour after the LPS administration in the LPS+BAT group.

Conducting medication reviews and implementing deprescribing strategies in multimorbid older adults with polypharmacy are an inherently complex and challenging task. Recognizing this, the Special Interest Group on Pharmacology of the European Geriatric Medicine Society has compiled evidence on medication review and deprescribing in older adults and has formulated recommendations to enhance appropriate prescribing practices.

Methods: A total of 80 patients participated in this prospectively planned study. The patients were divided into two groups.
Objectives: Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) has a wide spectrum of symptoms that includes all body parts. So FMS is a great imitator. This brings to mind the possibility that fibromyalgia patients visit outpatient clinics in many departments more than non-fibromyalgia patients.

Objective: We aimed to investigate the relationship between microplastics, which are a worldwide health and environmental issue, and their relationship to allergic rhinitis.
Materials And Methods: A total of 66 patients participated in this prospective study. The patients were divided into two groups.
Background: : The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the presence, size, or type of calcaneal spurs on pain or the outcomes of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) therapy in patients with plantar fasciitis.
Methods: Seventy-four patients with unilateral plantar fasciitis who had no pain in the contralateral foot, either currently or in the past, were included in the study. The length, base width, type, and presence of plantar calcaneal spurs in both heels of the patients were determined using radiography.

Patients And Methods: The cross-sectional controlled study was performed with 1,360 participants (332 males, 1,028 females; mean age: 42.3±12.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of conventional physical therapy (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, hot pack, and therapeutic ultrasound) and extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) on pain, disability, functional status, and depression in patients with chronic low back pain (LBP).
Patients And Methods: Ninety-one patients with chronic LBP were included in the study and randomized to groups that received ESWT or conventional physiotherapy; of these, 70 completed the study (37 males, 33 females; mean age: 46.4±13.
Background: Concerns about surgical site infection (SSI) give rise to practices and procedures not evidence-based.
Objectives: This study investigates whether the type of patient transfer to operating rooms plays a role in developing surgical site infection.
Methods: Three thousand four hundred and seventy-one patients were divided into two groups: transfer group with stretcher (ST) (n = 1699) and patient bed transfer group (PBT) (n = 1772).
The superior cluneal nerve (SCN) is a sensory nerve known to be originated from the dorsal rami of the lower thoracic and lumbar nerve roots. One of the overlooked causes of low back pain (LBP) is the SCN Entrapment Neuropathy (SCNEN). SCNEN may also be associated with SCN stretching due to lumbar movement and the poor body posture through an increase in the paravertebral muscle tonus.

Settings: Outpatient Clinic.
Background: The use of potentially inappropriate medications (PIM) has become more common among nursing home residents (NHR). This study focused on drugs initially prescribed as pro re nata (PRN) medications and pill burden in association with PIM among NHR.
Methods: This observational cross-sectional study was conducted between March and April 2019 on 225 adult NHR aged ≥60 years.
