Context: Reiki is considered an effective, side-effect-free, and non-invasive method to alleviate anxiety.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effect of Reiki on the anxiety levels of mothers with hospitalized children.
Method: This three-arm parallel randomized controlled trial included 120 mothers with hospitalized children who were divided into 3 equal-sized groups.
The postpartum period is a well-defined risk factor for cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST). However, it is unclear which patients are at risk for CVST in the postpartum period. Thus, determining some CVST risk factors in postpartum patients may be useful for preventing the disorder in this population.

Purpose: Identifying factors affecting the mental health of parents with children diagnosed with type 1 diabetes mellitus is crucial in the caregiving process. The aim of this study was to determine the levels of burnout and depression in parents of children diagnosed with type 1 diabetes mellitus, as well as to identify the differential risk factors associated with these conditions.
Design And Methods: Data for this cross-sectional and correlational study were collected online from 140 parents between April and June 2024, using the "Information Form", "Burnout Measure Short Version", "Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21", and "Coping Style Scale".
Objectives: Despite increased rates of survival, pediatric organ transplant is characterized by clinical complexities and psychosocial challenges. Understanding and addressing the psychosocial issues inherent in this population are crucial for optimizing their overall well-being and transplant outcomes. In this systematic review, we thus aimed to provide a comprehensive analysis of the psychosocial issues encountered by pediatric patients undergoing or awaiting organ transplant.

Kidney, liver, heart, and other organ transplants can significantly improve the quality of life for children with various chronic diseases and can improve long-term survival rates. However, the effects of transplant on cognitive and educational aspects should be considered, including the effects of pre- and posttransplant treatment protocols, medications, psychosocial stress, and surgical interventions.

Background: The administration of vaccination, being an invasive procedure, can induce considerable pain in preterm infants.
Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of grasp reflex stimulation on pain and crying time during hepatitis B vaccine administration in infants.
Methods: This parallel randomized controlled trial was conducted between November 1, 2022, and April 1, 2023, at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a public hospital in Turkey.
The present research was an examination of the concentration levels of 10 metal(loid)s that had accumulated in the muscle, gills, and liver tissues of Carassius gibelio (Prussian carp) fish. The fish species, used as samples in the study, were obtained from the part of the river in Gülşehir (Türkiye). Besides, possible health risks to consumers were specified based on the daily estimated intake (EDI) of metal(loid)s in adults.

This study aims to evaluate treatment outcomes and identify risk factors for unfavorable outcomes in patients with multi-DR-TB (MDR-TB) treated at a major reference hospital in Istanbul.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 413 patients with rifampicin-resistant and MDR-TB who received treatment between January 1, 2013, and December 31, 2023, at the University of Health Sciences Süreyyapaşa Chest Diseases Training and Research Hospital.
Background: Assessment of the visual pathway, which is frequently affected by MS, provides the opportunity to measure the remyelination of acute and chronic MS lesions in vivo and non-invasively. VEP can be used in this context. Amplitude is a parameter of axonal loss, whereas latency is an in vivo biomarker of myelin repair.

Methods: Data on the infants with a GA of 32-37 weeks and BW >1,500 g who developed treatment requiring ROP (TR-ROP) were collected retrospectively from the 33 ROP centres in Turkiye. GA, BW, type of hospital, neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) level, presence of an ophthalmologist and neonatologist in the same hospital, length of stay in NICU, duration of oxygen therapy, comorbidities, type of ROP, and timing for TR-ROP development were analysed.
Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the effects of listening to nature sounds alone and virtual reality plus listening to nature sounds on pain and anxiety in hysterosalpingography.
Methods: This three-arm parallel randomized controlled trial included 135 (45 in each group) women who underwent hysterosalpingography in Turkey. The virtual reality+nature sounds group viewed a nature video with virtual reality glasses and listened to nature sounds during hysterosalpingography, whereas the nature sounds group only listened to nature sounds.

Understanding the role of iron in ethanol-derived hepatic stress could help elucidate the efficacy of dietary or clinical interventions designed to minimize liver damage from chronic alcohol consumption. We hypothesized that normal levels of iron are involved in ethanol-derived liver damage and reduced dietary iron intake would lower the damage caused by ethanol. We used a pair-fed mouse model utilizing basal Lieber-DeCarli liquid diets for 22 weeks to test this hypothesis.

The aim of this study was to identify markers that may be indicators of chronic inflammation in whole blood analyses in pediatric patients with RHD who regularly received secondary deposilin prophylaxis.
Methods: In our study, 100 children with ARF aged between 4 and 18 years were followed up in the pediatric cardiology outpatient clinic of the patient group.
