Introduction: The treatment tactics of patients with recurrent urethral stricture requires an integrated approach. An increase in the treatment efficiency is possible not only through improvements in surgical technique, but also by influencing the pathogenetic mechanisms of the formation of urethral stricture and stimulating regeneration.
Aim: To evaluate the efficiency of reconstructive procedures using platelet-rich plasma in patients with recurrent urethral stricture.

Viscoelastic microfluidics leverages the unique properties of non-Newtonian fluids to manipulate and separate micro- or submicron particles. Channel geometry and dimension are crucial for device performance. Traditional rigid microfluidic devices require numerous iterations of fabrication and testing to optimize these parameters, which is time-consuming and costly.

CO injection in subterranean reservoirs for storage, oil recovery, or both is challenging because of its very high mobility. Using a CO foam or emulsion is a way to remedy this problem by increasing CO's apparent viscosity. However, the generation of the foam and its propagation in porous media present several issues that have to be overcome for this process to be economically realistic in practice.

Insomnia is a serious and widespread public health problem, but is often undetected and patients do not receive needed treatment. Insomnia is often comorbid with other diseases and conditions, such as arterial hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, pain syndromes, anxiety and depressive disorders, etc. A separate problem is drug-induced insomnia, when patients develop symptoms due to other diseases treatments.

Five sets of near-isogenic lines (NILs) were studied with the aim of investigating the effect of the aforementioned genes on wheat vegetative period duration and 14 yield-related traits. Every NIL was sown in the hydroponic greenhouse of the Institute of Cytology and Genetics, SB RAS.

Methods: In our study, we used quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) to evaluate changes in the expression level of long non-coding RNA - Gomafu, NONMMUT033604.2, and NONMMUT064397.
We study foam production and destabilization through a flow-focusing geometry, namely a single pore of rectangular cross-section, by coinjecting gas and liquid at constant pressure, , and constant flow rate, . We observe that bubble production results from a Rayleigh-Plateau destabilization of the internal gas thread that occurs at the pore neck when its width becomes comparable to the height of the rectangular-section channel. Using a simple model and numerical approach, we (i) predict the shape of the gas jet and its stability range as a function of flow parameters and device geometry, which we successfully compare with our experimental results, and (ii) demonstrate the existence of a critical local pressure drop at the pore neck that determines whether or not a stable gas flow can form.

Aside from established petrophysical techniques, such as Amott imbibition tests, we evaluated the Washburn capillary rise method as a low-cost, easy-to-implement, and rapid screening tool for probing the wettability state of rock samples. The well-known limitations of this method are discussed and circumvented.

Selective depletion or suppression of self-reactive T cells remains a holy grail of autoimmune therapy, but disease-associated T cell receptors (TCRs) and cognate antigenic epitopes remained elusive. A TRBV9-containing CD8 TCR motif was recently associated with the pathogenesis of ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis and acute anterior uveitis, and cognate HLA-B*27-presented epitopes were identified.

Derivatives of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), also known as oxylipins, are key participants in regulating inflammation. Neuroinflammation is involved in many neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease. The development of ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) facilitated the study of oxylipins on a system level, i.

Sleep disorders are becoming increasingly important due to the high comorbidity with other diseases and a significant impact on the patient's quality of life. Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder both in the general population and in patients with multimorbid pathology. Its prevalence in the general population is 6-15%, while in patients with somatic diseases it increases up to 20-40% and can reach 90% in patients with comorbid mental disorders.

In ideal nanoscale systems, such as atomically smooth carbon nanotubes, the characteristic lengths reduce to such an extent that the non-equilibrium entrance region comprises a large proportion of the domain. In this regime, the added effective resistance induced by the non-equilibrium entrance region becomes large enough that classical effusion models break down.

The ability to detect liquid argon scintillation light from within a densely packed high-purity germanium detector array allowed the Gerda experiment to reach an exceptionally low background rate in the search for neutrinoless double beta decay of Ge. Proper modeling of the light propagation throughout the experimental setup, from any origin in the liquid argon volume to its eventual detection by the novel light read-out system, provides insight into the rejection capability and is a necessary ingredient to obtain robust background predictions. In this paper, we present a model of the Gerda liquid argon veto, as obtained by Monte Carlo simulations and constrained by calibration data, and highlight its application for background decomposition.

It allows one to assess structural changes in the microbial community comprised of the following functional groups: butyrate-producers, acetogens, sulfate-reducers, and mucin-decomposing bacteria. It is another way to perform a functional analysis of metatranscriptomic data by focusing on the ecological level of the community under study.
