Importance: Early administration of supplemental oxygen for all severely injured trauma patients is recommended, but liberal oxygen treatment has been associated with increased risk of death and respiratory complications.

Objective: To determine whether an early 8-hour restrictive oxygen strategy compared with a liberal oxygen strategy in adult trauma patients would reduce death and/or major respiratory complications.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This randomized controlled trial enrolled adult trauma patients transferred directly to hospitals, triggering a full trauma team activation with an anticipated hospital stay of a minimum of 24 hours from December 7, 2021, to September 12, 2023.

In this work, the HR MAS NMR (high-resolution magic-angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance) spectroscopy technique was combined with standard histological examinations to investigate the metabolic features of high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) with a special focus on the relation between a metabolic profile and a cancer cell fraction. The studied group consisted of 44 patients with HGSOC and 18 patients with benign ovarian tumors. Normal ovarian tissue was also excised from 13 control patients.

In this investigation, a three-dimensional (3D) axisymmetric potential well-based nonlinear piezoelectric energy harvester is proposed to increase the broadband frequency response under low-strength planar external excitation. Here, a two-dimensional (2D) planar bi-stable Duffing potential is generalized into three dimensions by utilizing axial symmetry. The resulting axisymmetric potential well has infinitely many stable equilibria and one unstable equilibria at the highest point of the potential barrier for this cantilevered oscillator.
