Purpose: The primary objective was to determine whether the analysis of textural heterogeneity of vestibular schwannomas on MRI at diagnosis was predictive of their radiological evolutivity. The secondary objective was to determine whether some clinical or radiological factors could also be predictive of growth.
Methods: We conducted a pilot, observational and retrospective study of patients with a vestibular schwannoma, initially monitored, between April 2001 and November 2019 within the Oto-Neurosurgical Institute of Champagne Ardenne, Texture analysis was performed on gadolinium injected T1 and CISS T2 MRI sequences and six parameters were extracted: mean greyscale intensity, standard deviation of the greyscale histogram distribution, entropy, mean positive pixels, skewness and kurtosis, which were analysed by the Lasso method, using statistically penalised Cox models.

Preservation of vestibular structures, particularly the posterior semicircular canal, is essential to ensure hearing preservation in addition to complete tumour resection during retrosigmoid surgical resection of a vestibular schwannoma. Drilling of the internal auditory canal (IAC) is a delicate step, during which these structures can be accidentally perforated. The orientation of the IAC results in the formation of poorly visible zones that can predispose to perforation of these structures when drilling is performed with a microscope.

Introduction: We describe our experience of cranioplasty after a calvarial defect, following an external decompressive craniectomy, with the Medpor (Stryker) porous polyethylene implant for cosmetic cranioplasty and reconstruction.
Methods: A retrospective chart review was performed on 23 consecutive patients who underwent cranioplasty at a single institution between January 2013 and January 2016: 9 patients after head injury and 14 patients after vascular event (ruptured aneurysm, intraprenchymal haematoma, malignant cerebrovascular accident). All patients with cranioplasties after oncological resection or infection were excluded.
Any cutaneous lesion of the outer ear must be managed jointly by a dermatologist and an ENT, regardless of the age of the patient. The presence of a malignant cutaneous carcinoma (Squamous cell carcinoma or melanoma) of the pavilion requires a minimum extension assessment by a cervical ultrasound, CT-scan and MRI will be prescribed according to the degree of infiltration and the presence of clinics signs (lymphadenopathy, facial paralysis, cognitive impairment). A polyp of the external auditory meatus must be systematically biopsied in consultation and, if necessary, in the operating room with fresh anatomopathological analysis.

Method: The technical details of the transglabellar approach are described in this article as we have been using it for the past 3 years. After an inter-eyebrow skin incision, the scalp is elevated allowing the creation of a 3-cm bone flap in the frontal sinus, which gives direct access to the anterior midline skull base.
Laboratory screening bioassays and field trapping experiments of spotted wing drosophila flies, Drosophila suzukii (Matsumura) (Diptera: Drosophilidae), were conducted to determine the attractiveness of 17 compounds as well as to compare attractant efficiency during peak fruit ripeness and postharvest captures late in the season. Compounds structurally related to each of the fermentation products acetic acid, ethanol, ethyl acetate, and 2-phenethyl alcohol were screened for attractiveness compared with a soap water control in greenhouse cage bioassays. The compounds determined to be attractive in the greenhouse bioassay (methanol, ethanol, propanol, formic acid, acetic acid, ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, phenethyl acetate, phenethyl propionate, and phenethyl butyrate) were individually tested in the field added to apple cider vinegar (ACV).
