This case report presents a 51-year-old male patient with bilateral double-layered patella complicated by severe osteoarthrosis. Bilateral surgery was performed with cruciate substituting arthroplasty. The left knee had minimal patellofemoral arthrosis and good patella tracking, and resurfacing was not performed.

Purpose: To report our experience with two-stage revision using a new femoral component (NFC) spacer (Depuy Synthes) as an articulating spacer.

Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study, we reviewed 22 two-stage revisions that were performed using an NFC spacer in 22 patients suspected of having an infected total knee arthroplasty (TKA) from December 2010 to March 2013. The result was considered successful when eradication of infection was achieved using only one NFC spacer.

CT-scanning was introduced before Medico-Legal autopsy at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Copenhagen in 2002. 525 bodies are included in the present series. CT-scanning was most valuable in demonstrating foreign bodies (bullets, osteosynthesis-material, etc), bone fractures, certain intracranial lesions, haematomas, haemorrhages and fluid in the body cavities.

CT-scanning as routine examination before medico-legal autopsy was introduced at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Copenhagen, Denmark, in December 2002. The present series comprises of 525 medico-legal examinations performed in the year 2003. The purpose is to determine the value of CT-scanning prior to the post-mortem examination.

We performed 97 uncemented primary total hip arthroplasties in 80 patients having an average age of 50 years. The femoral implant was a titanium stem with a proximal circumferential plasma spray-coating. Three different acetabular components were used: a threaded and partly porous-coated design in 70% of the cases.

In the Oslo and Copenhagen areas, 77 instances of blunt force homicides were committed from 1985-1994, accounting for 18% of all homicides in that 10-year period. Fifty-four (70%) of the victims were male, often killed by an acquaintance during a fight. Almost 70% of the female victims were killed in their own home, whereas that was the case for only 30% of the male victims.
