Plant root and soil-associated microbiomes are influenced by niches, including bulk and rhizosphere soil. In this work, we collected bulk and rhizosphere soil samples at four potato developmental stages (leaf growth, flowering, tuber elongation and harvest) to identify whether rhizosphere microbiota are structured in a growth stage-dependent manner. The bacterial and fungal microbiota showed significant temporal differences in the rhizosphere and bulk soil.

Erythroderma is a severe and heterogeneous inflammatory skin condition with little guidance on the approach to management in cases of unknown etiology. To guide therapeutic selection, we sought to create an immunophenotyping platform able to identify aberrant cell populations and cytokines in subtypes of erythroderma. We performed high-parameter flow cytometry on peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and whole blood of a patient with refractory idiopathic erythroderma, erythrodermic patients with Sézary syndrome and pityriasis rubra pilaris, and healthy controls.

The photovoltaic performance of inverted perovskite solar cells (PSCs) relies on effectively managing the interface between the hole extraction layer and the light-absorbing perovskite layer. In this study, we have synthesised (4-(3,6-bis(methylthio)-9H-carbazol-9-yl)butyl)phosphonic acid (MeS-4PACz), which forms a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) on the fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) electrode. The molecule's methylthio substituents generate a favourable interfacial dipole moment and interact with the perovskite layer.

Patients with prurigo nodularis (PN) present with pruritus which may lead to sleep disturbances and systemic comorbidities. The objective of our study was to determine the risk of sleep disorders in PN and its association with systemic inflammation and adverse cardiovascular outcomes. The distribution of uranium (U) concentrations, which reached up to 322 µg/L, was found to correlate with the pattern of fractures within the natural barrier system (NBS). Analysis of the vertical distribution of dissolved oxygen (DO), dissolved organic carbon (DOC), tritium (H), microbial communities, and HO and SO isotopes revealed insights into oxic water infiltration within the heterogeneous fractured system. Their distribution showed that the average infiltration depth at the KURT site is 200 m, while in external areas with a high frequency of fractures, oxic conditions extended down to 495 m.

Maleic anhydride derivatives were evaluated as catalysts in -oxidation of various pyridine substrates using hydrogen peroxide (HO). Depending on the electronic properties of the pyridine substrates, pyridines with electron-donating groups reacted well with 2,3-dimethylmaleic anhydride (DMMA). In contrast, 1-cyclohexene-1, 2-dicarboxylic anhydride (CHMA) was most effective for electron-deficient pyridines.
