The estimation of cosmological parameters from a given data set requires a construction of a likelihood function which, in general, has a complicated functional form. We adopt a Gaussian copula and constructed a copula likelihood function for the convergence power spectrum from a weak lensing survey. We show that the parameter estimation based on the Gaussian likelihood erroneously introduces a systematic shift in the confidence region, in particular, for a parameter of the dark energy equation of state w.

The origin of the substantial magnetic fields that are found in galaxies and on even larger scales, such as in clusters of galaxies, is yet unclear. If the second-order couplings between photons and electrons are considered, then cosmological density fluctuations, which explain the large-scale structure of the universe, can also produce magnetic fields on cosmological scales before the epoch of recombination. In this Letter, we discuss the generation of magnetic field from cosmological perturbations. We consider the evolution of three component plasma (electron, proton, and photon) evaluating the collision term between electrons and photons up to the second order. The collision term is shown to induce electric current, which then generates magnetic field.

We reformulate cosmological perturbations in the decaying cold dark matter model, and calculate cosmological microwave background anisotropies. By comparing our predictions with data from the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe, we derive a new bound on the abundance and lifetime of decaying dark matter particles. The lifetime is constrained to Gamma(- 1)> or =123 Gyr at 68% C.
