Corneal hysteresis (CH) is associated with glaucomatous structural changes. We retrospectively investigated the association between CH and the regional circumpapillary retinal nerve fibre layer thickness (cpRNFLT) in 419 eyes of 419 patients with normal-tension glaucoma (NTG) and primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). CH was used as the explanatory variable, and cpRNFLT (total and quadrant) was used as the dependent variable.

The cancer-specific PBM, European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Utility - Core 10 Dimensions (EORTC QLU-C10D), was developed recently, and now needs to be validated in various clinical populations. In a multicenter, multinational prospective cohort study, we longitudinally collected EORTC QLQ-C30 and EQ-5D-5L data from patients with thyroid cancer.

We investigated how acute kidney injury (AKI), a major dose-limiting toxicity effect of cisplatin, affects overall survival (OS).
Methods: We analyzed 251 patients from JCOG1008 receiving chemoradiotherapy.
Aim: Although immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICPi) for salivary gland cancer (SGC) have been investigated in clinical trials, details of the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) remain unclear. This research aimed to elucidate the TIME of SGC and its relationship with tumor mutation burden (TMB) and to explore the rationale for the applicability of ICPi.
Materials And Methods: We selected five pathological types, namely adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC); adenocarcinoma, not otherwise specified (ANOS); salivary duct carcinoma (SDC); and low/high-grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC).
Background: Over the last decade, novel anticancer drugs have improved the prognosis for recurrent or metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (RM-SCCHN). However, this has increased healthcare expenditures and placed a heavy burden on patients and society. This study investigated the frequency of use and costs of select palliative chemotherapy regimens in Japan.

Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 24 eyes of 24 patients with non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAAION), 59 eyes of 59 patients with optic neuritis (ON), 677 eyes of 677 patients with open-angle glaucoma (OAG), and 110 eyes of 110 controls. The patient backgrounds of all groups were compared.
Olfactory neuroblastoma (ONB) is an uncommon malignant tumor and is usually treated by a multidisciplinary approach includes surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. A 62 years-old male had a tumor in the nasal cavity and diagnosed as ONB with Kadish A stage. Anterior skull base surgery was performed as radical treatment.

The initiative identified deficiencies in PRO data reporting, including nonstandardized methods for handling missing data. This study evaluated the reporting of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in Japanese cancer RCTs to provide insights into the state of PRO reporting in Japan.

However, CRT can lead to severe late adverse events such as dysphagia and aspiration pneumonia, especially in patients who have difficulty swallowing and/or aspiration at the time of initial diagnosis. Patients and methods Between 2012 and 2020, 86 patients with T3 HPC treated with curative intent at Kobe University Hospital were included in this study.

Retrospective studies suggest that previous treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitor might augment the efficacy of subsequent chemotherapy. Here, we conducted a phase II trial aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of paclitaxel plus biweekly cetuximab for patients in this setting.

We developed a risk prediction model for cisplatin-induced AKI in patients with postoperative high-risk head and neck cancer who received chemoradiotherapy during a randomized phase II/III trial, JCOG1008.
Materials And Methods: Two hundred and fifty-one patients received radiotherapy with weekly cisplatin at 40 mg/m (weekly arm) or 3-weekly cisplatin at 100 mg/m (3-weekly arm).
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate differences in microvasculature dropout (MvD) between the superior and inferior hemispheres in glaucoma patients.
Study Design: Retrospective and cross-sectional.
Methods: Fifty-eight eyes of 58 open-angle glaucoma patients (age 61.
Anterior commissure is involved in about 20% of early-stage glottic squamous cell carcinomas (EGSCCs). Treatment outcomes and prognostic factors for EGSCC with anterior commissure involvement (ACI) were evaluated by focusing on hyperfractionated radiotherapy (74.4 Gy in 62 fractions).

Endorsed by 19 research organisations representing 34 countries, these recommendations provide the framework to facilitate and harmonise data collection and sharing for HNC research. These variables have also been incorporated into a ready to use downloadable HNCIG minimum database, available from the HNCIG website.

Design: Retrospective, longitudinal study.
Participants: This retrospective study included 116 eyes of 84 POAG patients who underwent DRPT and had at least 5 reliable VF tests conducted over a more than 2-year follow-up period.
Purpose: To investigate clinical factors associated with foveal avascular zone (FAZ) parameters obtained using OCT angiography (OCTA) with assistance from a previously developed artificial intelligence (AI) platform in eyes with open-angle glaucoma (OAG).
Design: Retrospective longitudinal.
Participants: This study followed up 885 eyes of 558 patients with OAG for ≥ 2 years; all eyes underwent ≥ 5 Humphrey visual-field (VF) tests and had 3.
Surgery remains a foundation of treatment for locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. For postoperative patients at high risk of recurrence, however, surgery by itself is not enough, and improvement in survival requires postoperative treatment. Unlike the case with most other malignancies, the standard postoperative treatment for locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck patients with high-risk factors for recurrence is radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy with cisplatin.

Seventeen-one consecutive patients who were treated for EACSCC at Kobe University Hospital from 1995 to 2018 were enrolled in this study. The expression of EGFR, and p16 were evaluated and their impacts on oncological outcomes were statistically analyzed.
