Six cases of congenital subscalp nodule associated with underlying cranium bifidum are reported. A plain skull roentgenogram showed a midline bone defect in the parieto-occipital region near the lambda. CT scan demonstrated neither brain malformation nor ventricular deformity except for the high position of the straight sinus.

In this study, another type of model, ie, hydrops caused by overproduction of endolymphatic fluid, was accomplished by applying various pressures into scala media through a micropipette via stria vascularis. This type of hydrops could be a model of attacks of Meniere's disease.

Both nitroprusside and verapamil reduced the resting and K-stimulated tensions in a dose-dependent manner. Nitroprusside was much more effective than verapamil in reducing resting tension.

Intramuscular administration of penicillin G was carried out in a series of 27 chronic cat preparations. In addition to the EEG, the high frequency components of cerebral electrical activity were also recorded from cortical and deep structures. Videotape recordings using split-screen technique allowed correlations of the animal's clinical state with the EEG.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPrior to the release of carbamazepine for the treatment of patients with psychomotor and grand mal seizures, primidone was regarded as the drug of choice for these disorders, especially when combined with diphenylhydantoin (DPH). It was, therefore, of interest to compare the effectiveness of carbamazepine against primidone when added to a therapeutic dose of DPH. Forty-five patients completed a 6-month study with each patient serving as his own control.
