Background: In Retzius-sparing robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP), lymphocele formation is a troublesome complication. The use of peritoneal flaps has emerged as a promising novel technique to tackle this complication. We explored this technique by suturing both the medial peritoneal flaps to each other and keeping them distracted so that the lymphadenectomy beds are left wide open.

Background: The onset of severe mental disorders (SMDs) is during adolescence or young adulthood, which affects the well-being and the educational aspirations of the students. Models of supported education practiced in the West are not culturally suitable for Indian students or the Indian education system. This study aimed to develop a Supported Education Program (SEP) for students with SMDs to help them with academic reintegration in an Indian context.

Pseudanthias vizagensis Krishna, Rao and Venu, 2017 was described from 44 specimens, collected from Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), on the Bay of Bengal coast of India, but without clear designation of a holotype. The characters used for differentiating the species from its nearest congener Pseudanthias pillai Heemstra Akhilesh, 2012, a species currently known only from the northern Indian Ocean, were limited, poor and substantially overlapping. Examination of additional material of P.

Objective: To assess feasibility of robot-assisted laparoscopic radical nephrectomy (RALRN) and inferior vena cava thrombectomy (IVCT) in treating renal tumours with level I-III IVC thrombi and to assess their outcomes.

Patients And Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of RALRN-IVCTs, involving four centres across India, from September 2015 to June 2019. We analysed patients who underwent RALRN-IVCT for level I-III thrombi according to the Mayo classification.

Denial of pregnancy (DOP) is a challenging condition with poorly understood psychopathology. DOP is reported to be associated with problems such as severe psychological conflicts, obstetric complications, risks to the newborn, and difficulties in bonding with the infant. In this paper, we present and discuss the clinical manifestations of a severe form of DOP that lasted until the time of delivery with resultant multifaceted complications.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility of robotic assisted kidney transplantation in graft with multiple vessels.

Materials And Methods: Eighteen patients underwent RAKT with grafts with multiple vessels (GMVs) from living donor performed by a single surgeon in single institution. The retrospective data obtained were compared to patients who underwent robotic assisted kidney transplant (RAKT) with single vessel and also open kidney transplant with GMVs.

Background: Education provides a platform to persons to integrate into society for their livelihood. In countries like India, higher education is accorded a significant place in society and is an important pre-requisite for most professional and skilled occupations. However there are a number of illness related and psychosocial barriers to attaining educational goals, especially for persons with Severe Mental Disorders (SMDs').

Aim: The aim of this study was to report the feasibility of robotic-assisted dual kidney transplantation (DKT) in a marginal donor.

Materials And Methods: The case was a 53-year-old male, who with IgA nephropathy underwent a robotic-assisted robotic DKT.

Results: The total operating time was 265 min, total console time was 215 min, and anastomotic time was 39 min for both the kidneys, and blood loss was 220 ml.

Article Synopsis
  • * Out of 40 tumors examined, survivin was detected in all, with significantly higher expression levels in malignant tumors (average value of 18.87) compared to benign ones (average value of 0.94).
  • * The findings suggest that higher survivin levels correlate with lower survival rates and poorer prognosis in dogs with malignant tumors, especially those exceeding the median cutoff value of 3.74.

Aberrant activation of oncogenic signaling pathways plays a central role in tumor development and progression. The aim of this present study was to investigate the chemopreventive effects of the neem limonoid gedunin in the hamster model of oral cancer based on its ability to modulate aldose reductase (AR), phosphatidyl inositol-3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt, and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) pathways to block angiogenesis. Administration of gedunin suppressed the development of HBP carcinomas by inhibiting PI3K/Akt and NF-κB pathways through the inactivation of Akt and inhibitory kappa B kinase (IKK), respectively.

Background: Blocking vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) mediated tumor angiogenesis by phytochemicals has emerged as an attractive strategy for cancer prevention and therapy.

Methods: We investigated the anti-angiogenic effects of ellagic acid in a hamster model of oral oncogenesis by examining the transcript and protein expression of hypoxia-inducible factor-1alpha (HIF-1α), VEGF, VEGFR2, and the members of the PI3K/Akt and MAPK signaling cascades. Molecular docking studies and cell culture experiments with the endothelial cell line ECV304 were performed to delineate the mechanism by which ellagic acid regulates VEGF signaling.

Aim: To assess the feasibility of performing a renal transplant operation through a modified non-muscle-cutting Pfannenstiel incision (MFI).

Materials And Methods: Renal transplantation with MFI was performed in 20 men with a body mass index (BMI) of less than 25 and five women with a BMI of less than 27. The parameters assessed were incision length, operative time, postoperative pain score by visual analogue score, wound complication, graft-related complications, eGFR at 3 months, and surgical scar satisfaction score.

Introduction: Within the last 20 years root demineralization has attracted attention as a periodontal regenerative technique. Topical tetracycline application has been widely reported for use as a conditioner, to decontaminate the root surface and to promote periodontal regeneration. The purpose of this scanning electron microscopic (SEM) study is to evaluate the surface characteristics of demineralized diseased and non-diseased dentine root surfaces using different concentrations of tetracycline hydrochloride (TTC-HCl).

Purpose: To assess the safety and feasibility of laparoscopic donor nephrectomy with transvaginal extraction and impact of body mass index (BMI), menopausal status, previous surgery, and uterine fibroids.

Patients And Methods: Five-port conventional laparoscopic donor nephrectomy with successful transvaginal extraction of the kidney was performed in 30 donors. The parameters assessed included age, BMI, operative time, estimated blood loss, warm ischemia time, postoperative pain score, preoperative and postoperative sexual function, wound complications, hospital stay, return to normal activities, recipient creatinine level, and other recipient-related complications.

Background: The oncogenic transcription factors NF-κB and β-catenin, constitutively activated by upstream serine/threonine kinases control several cellular processes implicated in malignant transformation including apoptosis evasion. The aim of this study was to investigate the chemopreventive effects of astaxanthin, an antioxidant carotenoid, in the hamster buccal pouch (HBP) carcinogenesis model based on its ability to modulate NF-κB and Wnt signaling pathways and induce apoptosis.

Methods: We determined the effect of dietary supplementation of astaxanthin on the oncogenic signaling pathways - NF-κB and Wnt/β-catenin, their upstream activator kinases - Erk/MAPK and PI-3K/Akt, and the downstream event - apoptosis evasion by real-time quantitative RT-PCR, western blot, and immunohistochemical analyses.
