Introduction: Cholecystectomy refers to the surgical removal of the gallbladder. It is indicated in acute cholecystitis, and other complications of gallstones like cholecystitis, pancreatitis and bile duct obstruction, the presence of gallbladder trauma, and gallbladder cancer.
