The article discusses the problem of endoprosthezing the humeral articulation having a complex anatomy which is often responsible for unsatisfactory results of treatment. The monopolar and total endoprostheses of the humeral articulation are described. A new method of operative treatment of injuries and diseases of the humeral articulation is proposed called by the authors "subchondral endoprosthesis".

It was found that corticosteroids cause changes in blood lipids of the atherogenic type that in association with increased levels of malonic dialdehyde, serotonin, histamine and reduced blood heparin level is the main pathogenetic mechanism of atherogenesis in rheumatoid arthritis.
