The purpose of this study was to clarify the effects of the standing center of gravity sway by providing visual stimulus information as if the subjects were walking in virtual reality (VR) and by monitoring conditions with different corridor widths. We included 25 healthy young individuals in our study. The center of gravity sway was measured during open- and closed-eye static standing using images of walking in corridors of different widths (780 and 1600 mm) presented on a VR and personal computer monitor (Monitor).

Purpose: Utilizing a participatory approach, we sought to co-design a 12-week Green Activity Program (GAP) with Hispanic/Latino individuals living with memory challenges and their care partners, local outdoor professionals, and healthcare providers.

Methods: Participants were recruited via convenience and snowball sampling in the Bronx, New York with Hispanic/Latino persons living with memory challenges and care partners, outdoor activity professionals, and interdisciplinary healthcare providers/dementia experts. Co-design occurred iteratively with 5 focus groups and 4 individual interviews lasting 30-90 min and focused on program and research design.

This study introduces a novel method that utilizes evolved gas analysis with time-of-flight mass spectrometry (EGA-TOFMS) coupled with principal component analysis (PCA) and Kendrick mass defect (KMD) analysis, called EGA-PCA-KMD, to analyze complex structural changes in polymer materials during thermo-oxidative degradation. While EGA-TOFMS captures exact mass data related to the degradation components in the temperature-dependent mass spectra of the evolved products, numerous high-resolution mass spectra with large amounts of ion signals and varying intensities provide challenges for interpretation. To address this, we employed mathematical decomposition through PCA to selectively extract information about the ion series specific to the products that evolved from the degradation components.
