Spontaneous pneumomediastinum is the presence of interstitial air in the mediastinal structures without an apparent cause. Pneumorrhachis is defined as the presence of air in the spinal canal. Concurrent pneumorrhachis is an extremely rare epiphenomenon of spontaneous pneumomediastinum without pneumothorax.
