Background: Hematological cancers have devastating effects on patients' physical, emotional, and psychosocial health. There is growing evidence to support the use of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) through validated tools. Although PROMs are widely adopted in oncology, uptake in hematology remains limited in routine clinical care.

Climate change threatens humanity's health and well-being. While climate change topics have been increasingly incorporated into undergraduate medical education, it is unclear to what extent they have been incorporated into graduate medical education (GME) curricula in the United States. To examine how climate change has been incorporated into GME curricula in the United States.

Household foodwork is defined as the physical and mental tasks a household does for eating meals and snacks. Because no tools exist to measure it, how much time people spend doing household foodwork and the foodwork barriers they experience remain unknown.

Specifically, this article documents the development and validation of a food literacy measure for young people facing social inequities.
Objectives: This study aimed to identify items to measure 12 attributes of food literacy; test the measure with the identified target groups, considering attribute, face, and content validity, inter-rater reliability and test-retest reliability; and refine the measure.
Background: The period around pregnancy is a critical window in the primordial prevention of cardiovascular disease, but little is known about the role of dietary patterns in cardiometabolic health. Our objective was to determine the association between alignment of periconceptional diet with the 2020 to 2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the risk of metabolic syndrome.
Methods And Results: We used data from the Nulliparous Pregnancy Outcomes Study: monitoring mothers-to-Be Heart Health Study, a pregnancy cohort study that followed pregnant participants to a median of 3 years postpartum (n=4423).
Background: Despite advancements in treatment and early diagnosis, people with lung cancer are not living as long as those with other cancers. The more common symptoms of lung cancer, such as breathlessness, fatigue, and depression, can be alleviated by improving patients' physical functioning. Therefore, good symptom management and improved health-related quality of life (HRQoL) are priorities in this patient group.

This systematic review synthesised observational studies assessing (i) the association between SEP and frailty prevalence; (ii) how changes in frailty status over time vary by SEP; and (iii) whether the association between frailty and clinical outcomes is modified by SEP.
Methods: We searched three electronic databases from 2001 to 2023.

Food literacy is a growing area of interest given its potential to support healthy and sustainable diets. Most existing food literacy measures focus on nutrition and food skills but fail to address food systems and socio-environmental aspects of food literacy. Further, measures developed and tested in the Canadian context are lacking.

Approaches that have not traditionally been applied to characterize dietary patterns, such as machine learning algorithms and latent class analysis methods, may offer opportunities to measure and characterize dietary patterns in greater depth than previously considered. However, there has not been a formal examination of how this wide range of approaches has been applied to characterize dietary patterns.

C57BL/6J and C57BL/6NJ mouse substrains exhibit phenotypic diversity in the context of limited genetic diversity which together can facilitate genetic discovery. Here, we found C57BL/6NJ mice were less sensitive to oxycodone (OXY)-induced locomotor activation versus C57BL/6J mice in a conditioned place preference paradigm.

Analyses of the relationships between these constructs can be limited by the wide range of measures used to assess them. In this systematic review, we synthesised 130 observational studies assessing the association between frailty and social vulnerability, the bidirectional longitudinal relationships between constructs, and their joint associations with adverse health outcomes.

Objective: We used machine learning methods to determine the effect of periconceptional dietary patterns on risk of preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, preterm birth, small-for-gestational-age (SGA) birth, and a composite of these outcomes.
Methods: We used data from 8259 participants in the Nulliparous Pregnancy Outcomes Study: Monitoring Mothers-to-Be (8 US medical centers, 2010‒2013).

Introduction: Teclistamab is the first approved B cell maturation antigen × CD3 bispecific antibody with precision dosing for the treatment of triple-class exposed (TCE) relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM). We compared the effectiveness of teclistamab in MajesTEC-1 versus real-world physician's choice of therapy (RWPC) in patients from the prospective, non-interventional LocoMMotion and MoMMent studies.
Methods: Patients treated with teclistamab from MajesTEC-1 (N = 165) were compared with an external control arm from LocoMMotion (N = 248) or LocoMMotion + MoMMent pooled (N = 302).
Sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) or unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) have been reported throughout history. Given the potential security and safety risks they pose, as well as scientific curiosity, there is increasing interest in understanding what these sighting reports represent. We approach this problem as an important one of the human experience and that can be examined through a geographical lens: what local factors may increase or decrease the number of sighting reports? Using a Bayesian regression method, we test hypotheses based on variables representing sky view potential (light pollution, tree canopy, and cloud cover) and the potential for objects to be present in the sky (aircraft and military installations).

Background: Community-based fitness programs can support public health by providing access to physical activity opportunities for a vulnerable population with significant barriers. Unfortunately, programs specifically designed for people with disabilities (PWD) and staff training to promote inclusion for PWD in general population programs is limited. The current study aimed to review an on-going partnership that had formed to address this need.

Introduction: Pneumonia is a common complication after severe trauma that is associated with worse outcomes with increased mortality. Critically ill trauma patients also have persistent inflammation and bone marrow dysfunction that manifests as persistent anemia. Terminal erythropoiesis, which occurs in bone marrow structures called erythroblastic islands (EBIs), has been shown to be impacted by trauma.

Patients suffering from-as well as models representing-multiple traumatic injuries, isolated organ system trauma, and various severities of traumatic injury have been studied as an area of interest in the dysregulation of immune function and systemic inflammation which occur after trauma. These studies also demonstrate changes in gut microbiome diversity and even microbial composition, with a transition to a pathobiome state.
