[Results of intestinal ureteral plastic surgery].

Catalysts with no hazardous or toxic components are required for the selective hydrogenation of acetylenic bonds in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, nutraceuticals, and fragrances. The present work demonstrates that a high selectivity to alkene can be reached over a Pd-Fe-O/SiO system prepared by the co-impregnation of a silica support with a solution of the metal precursors (NH)[Fe(CO)] and [Pd(NH)]Cl followed by thermal treatment in hydrogen or in air at 400 °C. A DRIFT spectroscopic study of CO adsorption revealed large shifts in the position of the Pd-CO bands for this system, indicating the strong effect of Fe on the Pd electronic state, resulting in a decreased rate of double C=C bond hydrogenation and an increased selectivity of alkyne hydrogenation to alkene.

Facile Synthesis of Micro-Mesoporous Copper Phyllosilicate Supported on a Commercial Carrier and Its Application for Catalytic Hydrogenation of Nitro-Group in Trinitrobenzene.

Development of novel Cu-based catalysts has become one of the frontiers in the catalytic production of platform chemicals and in environment protection. However, the known methods of their synthesis are too complicated and result in materials that cannot be used instantly as commercial catalysts. In the present work, a novel material has been synthesized by the facile method of deposition-precipitation using thermal hydrolysis of urea.

Design, Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Neogliptin, a Novel 2-Azabicyclo[2.2.1]heptane-Based Inhibitor of Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4).

Compounds that contain (R)-3-amino-4-(2,4,5-trifluorophenyl)butanoic acid substituted with bicyclic amino moiety (2-aza-bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane) were designed using molecular modelling methods, synthesised, and found to be potent DPP-4 (dipeptidyl peptidase-4) inhibitors.

[Long-term results of radical surgery treatment of patients with bladder cancer].

Purpose: To investigate long-term results after radical cystectomy in patients with bladder cancer.

Materials And Methods: Since 1997 to 2020 yy. we have performed 404 radical cystectomy with different methods of derivation for patients with bladder cancer in our clinic.

Pd-Fe nanoparticles stabilized by chitosan derivatives for perchloroethene dechlorination.

A series of chitosan-stabilized Pd-NZVI (nano-zero-valent-iron) catalysts for dechlorination with variation in their composition and in the nature of the polymer has been prepared. The synthesis procedures and palladium and chitosan contents were optimized. It was demonstrated by the XPS method that Fe and Pd in Fe-Pd/chitosan samples exist in the metallic state.

[Chromosomal translocation t(8,21) in acute myeloid leukemia of children: prognostic value of additional karyotype abnormalities].

Prognostic significance of additional karyotype abnormalities was studied in 73 children with t(8,21) acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Additional chromosomal aberrations were documented in 61 cases (83.6%).

In vitro and in silico characterization of peroxiredoxin 6 modified by 4-hydroxynonenal and 4-oxononenal.

Peroxiredoxin 6 (PRX6) belongs to the 1-Cys class of peroxiredoxins and is recognized as an important antioxidant protein in tissues such as cardiac muscle, skin, and lung. Preliminary in vivo proteomic data have revealed that PRX6 is adducted by 4-hydroxynonenal (4HNE) in the livers of rats chronically fed an ethanol-containing diet. The goals of this study were to evaluate the in vitro effect of aldehyde adduction on PRX6 peroxidase activity, identify specific sites of aldehyde modification using mass spectrometry, and predict conformational changes due to adduction using molecular modeling.

Heterobiaryl human immunodeficiency virus entry inhibitors.

Previously disclosed HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) attachment inhibitors, exemplified by BMS 806 (formally BMS378806, 1), are characterized by a substituted indole or azaindole ring linked to a benzoylpiperazine via a ketoamide or sulfonamide group. In the present report, we describe the discovery of a novel series of potent HIV entry inhibitors in which the indole or azaindole ring of previous inhibitors is replaced by a heterobiaryl group. Several of these analogues exhibited IC(50) values of less than 5 nM in a pseudotyped antiviral assay, and compound 13k was demonstrated to exhibit potency and selectivity similar to those of 1 against a panel of clinical viral isolates.

Effects, in an in-vivo model system, of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline on glioma.

Carbonyl reductase inactivation may contribute to mouse lung tumor promotion by electrophilic metabolites of butylated hydroxytoluene: protein alkylation in vivo and in vitro.

Promotion of lung tumors in mice by the food additive butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) is mediated by electrophilic metabolites produced in the target organ. Identifying the proteins alkylated by these quinone methides (QMs) is a necessary step in understanding the underlying mechanisms. Covalent adducts of the antioxidant enzymes peroxiredoxin 6 and Cu,Zn superoxide dismutase were detected previously in lung cytosols from BALB/c mice injected with BHT, and complimentary in vitro studies demonstrated that QM alkylation causes inactivation and enhances oxidative stress.

[Complex karyotype abnormalities in pediatric acute myeloid leukemia].

A majority of the data on the prognostic significance of distinct chromosome changes and combinations of them in pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has been derived from adult studies, with not numerous published data in pediatric patients. One of points needed to be clarified is prognostic significance of complex karyotype (at least 3 unrelated abnormalities). We investigated characteristic features of complex karyotype in newly diagnosed pediatric AML de novo.

Design and synthesis of human immunodeficiency virus entry inhibitors: sulfonamide as an isostere for the alpha-ketoamide group.

The crystal structures of many tertiary alpha-ketoamides reveal an orthogonal arrangement of the two carbonyl groups. Based on the hypothesis that the alpha-ketoamide HIV attachment inhibitor BMS 806 (formally BMS378806, 26) might bind to its gp120 target via a similar conformation, we designed and synthesized a series of analogs in which the ketoamide group is replaced by an isosteric sulfonamide group. The most potent of these analogs, 14i, demonstrated antiviral potency comparable to 26 in the M33 pseudotyped antiviral assay.

Mechanistic basis for inflammation and tumor promotion in lungs of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol-treated mice: electrophilic metabolites alkylate and inactivate antioxidant enzymes.

An established model for mechanistic analysis of lung carcinogenesis involves administration of 3-methylcholanthrene to mice followed by several weekly injections of the tumor promoter 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol (BHT). BHT is metabolized to quinone methides (QMs) responsible for promoting tumor formation. QMs are strongly electrophilic and readily form adducts with proteins.

[Urodynamics of artificial urinary bladder].

Radical cystectomy with creation of orthotopic reservoir from various segments of gastrointestinal tract was made in 120 patients (99 males, 21 females, age 37-74 years) with muscular-invasive cancer of the urinary bladder (UB) in 1996-2004. Replacement of UB was made according to the Studer and Hautmann method in 38 and 27 patients, respectively. S-cystoplasty was performed in 31 patients.

Discovery of antiglioma activity of biaryl 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline derivatives and conformationally flexible analogues.

Cultured rat astrocytes and C6 rat glioma were used as a differential screen for a variety of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline (THI) derivatives. Compound 1 [1-(biphenyl-4-ylmethyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-6,7-diol hydrochloride] selectively blocked the growth of C6 glioma leaving normal astrocytes relatively unaffected. The potential for clinical utility of 1 was further substantiated in human gliomas and other tumor cell lines.

[Features of transformation of phosphates in Rhodobacter sphaeroides chromatophores].

We have found the ATP production in the Rhodobacter sphaeroides chromatophores illuminated by single short light flash, that is under conditions when the proton gradient formed as a result of electron transport after the second flash, is absent. The ATP synthesis was accompanied by the H2O2 formation. Simultaneous formation of H2O2 is indicative of the oxidative activation of phosphate during the ATP synthesis, as in the model systems with isolated chlorophyll.

Quantitative estimation of chromosome aberration frequency in cancer patients induced by endogenous and exogenous factors.

In patients with skin melanoma and colon cancer, cell distribution by the number of chromosome aberrations cannot be described by Poisson distribution, but corresponds to a bipopulation model combining the Poisson and geometric distributions. In contrast to the control, in patients with malignant tumors, cells with geometric distribution possess the majority of chromosomal aberrations.

[Prevention of early thrombotic complications after reconstructive operations in occlusions of the aorto-iliac segment].

108 patients with atherosclerosis of aorto-iliac segment have undergone various reconstructive operations on this segment. Depending on the treatment all the patients were divided in 2 groups (test group--54 patients, control group--54 patients). The patients of the control group received aspirin, rheopolyglucin and trental for correction of hemorheology and hemocoagulation disorders.

[Harmonic physical development of children in the town of Gomel in the post-Chernobyl period].

The results of investigation of the harmony of physical development of children living in Gomel (the density of Cs137 territory contamination is 1-5 Ci/km2) are presented. Age and sex characteristics of body mass and body length variations, annual mass gains, the mass and length parameter and the harmony of physical development are assessed. A significant proportion of the children have manifested disharmonious and sharply disharmonious development due both to the excess or deficiency of body mass of the 1st and 2nd categories.
