Background: Technology-related research on people with dementia and their carers often aims to enable people to remain living at home for longer and prevent unnecessary hospital admissions. To develop person-centered, effective, and ethical research, patient and public involvement (PPI) is necessary, although it may be perceived as more difficult with this cohort. With recent and rapid expansions in health and care-related technology, this review explored how and with what impact collaborations between researchers and stakeholders such as people with dementia and their carers have taken place.

These elaborate high symmetry catalysts are readily generated by means of the self-assembly of four C-symmetric ligands around the dirhodium core. These catalysts are capable of highly site-selective, diastereoselective and enantioselective C-H functionalization reactions by means of donor/acceptor carbene-induced C-H insertions.

Sleep disorders have a strong bidirectional relationship with neurodegenerative diseases, where they accelerate and worsen one another. Although one-to-one individual cognitive behavioral interventions (conducted in-person or on the internet) have shown promise for significant improvements in sleep efficiency among adults, many may experience difficulties accessing interventions with sleep specialists, psychiatrists, or psychologists.

Clinical use of IL-12 has been limited by a short half-life and narrow therapeutic index.
Methods: We generated a monovalent, half-life-extended IL-12-Fc fusion protein, mDF6006, engineered to retain the high potency of native IL-12 while significantly expanding its therapeutic window.
Aims: A diabetic eye screening programme has huge value in reducing avoidable sight loss by identifying diabetic retinopathy at a stage when it can be treated. Artificial intelligence automated systems can be used for diabetic eye screening but are not employed in the national English Diabetic Eye Screening Programme. The aim was to report the performance of a commercially available deep-learning artificial intelligence software in a large English population.

Specifically, research led by NMAHPP clinicians (Nursing, Midwifery, Allied health professions, Healthcare science, Psychology and Pharmacy).
Methods: Semi-structured one-to-one interviews were conducted with health research participants and patient or public advisors.
Boreal caribou require large areas of undisturbed habitat for persistence. They are listed as threatened with the risk of extinction in Canada because of landscape changes induced by human activities and resource extraction. Here we ask: Can the protection of habitat for boreal caribou help Canada meet its commitments under the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity and United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change? We identified hotspots of high conservation value within the distribution of boreal caribou based on: (1) three measures of biodiversity for at risk species (species richness, unique species and taxonomic diversity); (2) climate refugia or areas forecasted to remain unchanged under climate change; and, (3) areas of high soil carbon that could add to Canada's greenhouse gas emissions if released into the atmosphere.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the quality, usability, and readability of websites providing information concerning depression in later life.
The Covid-19 pandemic provokes a pedagogic crisis: education is ill-adapted to accommodate multiple uncertainties in students' lives. We examine how pandemic uncertainty is registered in a global collection of writing and drawing from 4 to 17-years-old, during the 2020 lockdowns. The study engages with Biesta's (2021) philosophical work on 'world-centred education', offering empirical examples from the collection that goes beyond the immediacy of everyday lives.

Canada is also obligated to recover populations of at-risk species, including boreal caribou. Canada has the opportunity to expand its protected areas network to protect hotspots of high value for biodiversity and climate mitigation.

The 2002 UK surveillance guidelines classify post-polypectomy patients into low, intermediate and high risk, and recommend different strategies for each classification. Limited evidence supports these guidelines.

However, it is important to ensure that attribution approaches are equitable; otherwise, individuals may be assigned differentially based upon social determinants of health.
Methods: First, we used Medicaid claims (2010-2018) from Michigan to assess the proportion of children with sickle cell anemia who had less than 12 months enrollment within a single Medicaid health plan and could therefore not be attributed to a specific health plan.
Effective antitumour immunity depends on the orchestration of potent T cell responses against malignancies. Regression of human cancers has been induced by immune checkpoint inhibitors, T cell engagers or chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapies. Although CD8 T cells function as key effectors of these responses, the role of CD4 T cells beyond their helper function has not been defined.

Subsequent studies have identified hepatocellular oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, altered bile acid homeostasis, and immune response as mechanisms of TAK-875 DILI and the contribution of genetic risk factors in oxidative response and mitochondrial pathways to the toxicity susceptibility observed in patients. We tested the hypothesis that a novel preclinical approach based on gene pathway analysis in the livers of Collaborative Cross mice could be used to identify human-relevant mechanisms of toxicity and genetic risk factors at the level of the hepatocyte as reported in a human genome-wide association study.

Here, we use herring gull (Larus argentatus) eggs to evaluate temporal changes in total mercury (THg) availability from two locations on Great Slave Lake (GSL), Northwest Territories, Canada. Egg THg concentrations increased through time, but this change was due to shifts in gull diets.

The 'dyslexia debate' is resilient. In the media, a key component of the debate is the notion that dyslexia does not exist, popularised by a series of vociferous commentators. For them, dyslexia is an invention of overly-concerned parents, supported by a clique of private educational psychologists willing to offer a diagnosis - for a fee - even where no condition exists.

An increasingly central line of inquiry in the literature on valuing vaccination surrounds accounting for the full social and economic benefits of vaccination. This paper applies this emerging perspective to the particular case of vaccination against serogroup B meningococcal disease (MenB).

Previous studies of the neuropathology occurring in CHD focused on cases preceding 1995 and reported high rates of white matter injury and intracranial hemorrhage, but do not reflect improvements in management of CHD in the past 2 decades. The purpose of this study is therefore to characterize the neuropathological lesions identified in subjects dying from CHD in a more-recent cohort from 2 institutions.

Bispecific antibodies targeting tumor antigens and activating T cell receptor signaling have shown some clinical efficacy; however, providing co-stimulatory signals may improve T cell responses against tumors. Here, we developed a trispecific antibody that interacts with CD38, CD3 and CD28 to enhance both T cell activation and tumor targeting.
