Introduction: Alkaptonuria is a metabolic disorder due to accumulation of homogentisic acid, leading to destruction of major joints. Very few cases of ochronosis with shoulder involvement have been reported in literature.
Case Report: We report a 31-year-old male who presented with shoulder pain for 4 months.
Objective: The number of patients during disastrous conditions was high, and triage is essential. In chaotic circumstances, orthopedic surgeons can also struggle with patient selection, not only for surgical selection but also for the necessity of hospitalization. So, the performance of the Injury Severity Score, New Injury Severity Score, and Trauma and Injury Severity Score was compared in victims who were struck under the wreckage and had fractures due to the Kahramanmaras Earthquake.

Methods: The surface conjugation of 8-anilino-1-naphthalenesulfonate (ANS) to MnFe@C nanodots (ANS-MnFe@C) enhances both longitudinal and transverse MRI relaxation, improves fluorescence for optical imaging, and increases protein detection sensitivity, showing higher multimodal efficacy in terms of molar relaxivity, radiant efficiencies, and fluorescence sensitivity compared to MnFe@C.
Results: The band gap energy was determined using Tauc's equation to be 3.

Bupropion (Bpn), an FDA-approved NDRI (norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor), poses risks of seizures and liver failure due to its stimulant properties, necessitating the development of alternative formulations. This research aims to develop a Bpn nanoformulation within bilosomal vesicles to enhance therapeutic efficacy at lower doses, using three bile salts, span 20 surfactants, and cholesterol via thin-film hydration. Optimization of bilosomal stability is achieved by trialing various ingredient concentrations, identifying a surfactant-to-cholesterol-to-bile salt ratio of 1.

We sought to determine the prevalence of CMRI abnormalities in patients with DMD and BMD and to compare the CMRI parameters with the phenotypic and genotypic characteristics.
Methods: A prospective, observational study was conducted on patients genetically diagnosed with DMD and BMD who could complete CMRI between March 2020 and March 2022.
An information engine based on a two-level system in contact with a thermal reservoir is studied analytically. The model incorporates delay time between the measurement of the state of the system and the feedback. The engine efficiency and work extracted per cycle are studied as a function of delay time and energy spacing between the two levels.

Objective: We examined various ECG parameters in children with DMD, in comparison with age-matched controls.
Methods: Standard 12-lead ECG tracings of serial patients were screened for quality and selected.

Background: The aim of this study is to analyze the clinical outcomes of common arterial trunk repair beyond infancy in terms of both early- and long-term outcomes.
Methods: Between January 2003 and December 2019, 56 patients underwent repair for common arterial trunk beyond infancy at our institute. Median age was 34.

We report the development and validation of a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the quantitation of paxalisib in mouse plasma as per the US Food and Drug Administration regulatory guidelines. From the mouse plasma, paxalisib and the internal standard (IS; filgotinib) were extracted using ethyl acetate as an extraction solvent.

In this research, we report a validated LC-MS/MS method for quantifying copanlisib from a mouse dried blood spot (DBS). We validated the method in line with the guidelines of the US Food and Drug Administration.

Methods: A retrospective, observational study was conducted on IIM patients having positive serum autoantibodies and who underwent PET-MRI (3-Tesla SIEMENS Biograph MR scanner) between 2017 and 2021. Thirty patients who underwent PET-MRI to detect systemic metastasis without muscle involvement formed the control group.

In this study, we report the development and validation of an LC-tandem mass spectrometry method for the simultaneous quantitation of bendamustine and copanlisib in mouse plasma as per the US FDA regulatory guidelines. The sample processing involves extraction of bendamustine and copanlisib along with internal standard (IS; warfarin) from 50 μL mouse plasma using a liquid-liquid extraction method. The chromatographic separation of bendamustine, copanlisib and the IS was achieved on an Atlantis dC column using an isocratic mobile phase (5 mM ammonium acetate:methanol, 20:80 v/v).

The aim of this study was to review our institutional experience with patients who underwent surgical repair of aortopulmonary window, either as an isolated lesion or in association with other cardiac anomalies. Between January 2006 and December 2020, 183 patients underwent surgical repair of aortopulmonary window at our institute. Sixty-three patients had associated lesions (Group 1); 120 patients had isolated aortopulmonary window (Group 2).

Cardiovascular community has started clinically adopting the assessment of local stiffness, contrary to the traditionally measured carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (PWV). Though they offer higher reliability, ultrasound methods require advanced hardware and processing methods to perform real-time measurement of local PWV. This work presents a system and method to perform online PWV measurement in an automated manner.

Capturing vascular dynamics using ultrasound at a high framerate provided a unique way to track time-dependent and transient physiologic events non-invasively. In this work, we present an A-model high-framerate (500 frames per second) image-free ultrasound system for monitoring vascular structural and material properties. It was developed based on our clinically validated ARTSENS technology.

Measurement of arterial wall thickness is an integral component of vascular properties and health assessment. State-of-the-art automated or semi-automated techniques are majorly applicable to B-mode images and are not available for entry-level in-expensive devices. Considering this, we have earlier developed and validated an image-free (A-mode) ultrasound device, ARTSENS for the evaluation of vascular properties.
