Background: Despite accumulating evidence and recommendations for management of colonic diverticular bleeding (CDB), the changes in its clinical management and outcomes remain unknown.
Methods: We performed a retrospective tendency analysis on a biennial basis, a propensity score-matched cohort study between the first and latter half groups, and mediation analyses to compare the diagnostic and treatment methods between January 2010 and December 2019 (CODE BLUE-J Study).
Results: A total of 6575 patients with CDB were included.
Phonon dynamics in organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites (OIHPs) exhibit inherent complexity driven by the intricate interactions between rotatable organic cations and dynamically disordered inorganic octahedra, mediated by hydrogen bonding. This study aims to address this complexity by investigating the thermal transport behavior of MAPbCl as a gateway to the OIHPs family. The results reveal that the ultralow thermal conductivity of MAPbCl arises from a synergistic interplay of exceptionally low phonon velocities, short phonon lifetimes, and phonon mean free paths approaching the Regel-Ioffe limit.

Methods: We analyzed 8,956 patients with ALGIB in CODE BLUE-J study and categorized them into four groups based on BSG guidelines. Outcomes included 30-day rebleeding, 30-day mortality, blood transfusion, therapeutic intervention, and severe bleeding.
Aim: The present study assessed low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels in school-aged children from the Ogasa District of Shizuoka Prefecture and evaluated the utility of non-invasive vascular tests, namely flow-mediated dilation (FMD) and intima-media thickness (IMT), in pediatric patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH).
Method: We analyzed the lipid test results of 8,568 students screened for prevention of lifestyle-related diseases and 78 children under 15 years old with cholesterol levels exceeding 220 mg/dL who visited Chutoen General Medical Center. We examined the LDL-C distribution from school-age screenings and conducted FMD and IMT assessments on those meeting the 2022 Pediatric FH Guidelines criteria.
Short-stranded double-helical monometallofoldamers capable of /-switching were constructed by the complexation of two strands, each with two L-shaped units linked by a 2,2'-bipyridine, with a Zn(II) cation. The helix terminals of the "double-helical form" folded by π-π interactions can unfold in solution to equilibrate with the "open forms" that are favored at higher temperatures. Interestingly, the helical chirality of the monometallofoldamers with chiral side chains induced a single-handed helix sense and controlled /-switching depending on achiral solvent stimuli.

Improvement and worsening of portal hypertension after direct acting antiviral agent (DAA) treatment for hepatitis C virus-related cirrhosis have been reported, and a consensus remains elusive. In this study, we underscored on the intraperitoneal shunt formed via portal hypertension and examined how the shunt system confirmed by computed tomography (CT) changes before and after treatment in cases in which sustained virological response (SVR) was attained with DAAs. Of the cases in which we achieved an SVR of 24 with DAA treatment for hepatitis C virus-related cirrhosis at our hospital, 83 cases in which CT images were taken before and after treatment were investigated.

We aimed to identify high risk endoscopic SRH and to propose an optimal endoscopic treatment strategy.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 2699 ALGIB patients with SRH at 49 hospitals (CODE BLUE-J Study), of whom 88.
Background: Long tubular duplication is a rare congenital intestinal disease, that can lead to emergency situations marked by massive hemorrhage. However, preoperative diagnosis and surgical treatment are challenging. This report presents preoperative images and details a surgical procedure for long tubular intestinal duplications with massive hemorrhage.

Of particular interest is the interplay between and cations as exemplified by intersite charge transfer (ICT), which causes novel phenomena including negative thermal expansion and metal-insulator transition. However, the ICT properties were achieved and optimized by cationic substitution or ordering.

However, the observation of spin-direction rotation occurring inside the SC state (SC spin rotation) has hardly been reported. Uranium ditelluride, a recently found topological superconductor, exhibits various SC phases under pressure: SC state at ambient pressure (SC1), high-temperature SC state above 0.

Beta-blockers are a key drug in the treatment of heart failure; however, hypotension may occur, particularly in dialysis patients, thereby complicating dialysis. Ivabradine has the unique property of a negative chronotropic effect only, without the negative inotropic effect.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFRecently, a superconducting (SC) transition from low-field (LF) to high-field (HF) SC states was reported in CeRh_{2}As_{2}, indicating the existence of multiple SC states. It has been theoretically noted that the existence of two Ce sites in the unit cell, the so-called sublattice degrees of freedom owing to the local inversion symmetry breaking at the Ce sites, can lead to the appearance of multiple SC phases even under an interaction inducing spin-singlet superconductivity. CeRh_{2}As_{2} is considered as the first example of multiple SC phases owing to this sublattice degree of freedom.

Although many amplicon analyses using 16S rRNA gene have suggested the diversity of Endozoicomonas species, genome analysis has been limited due to contamination of host-derived sequences and difficulties in culture and metagenomic analysis. Therefore, the evolutionary and functional potential of individual Endozoicomonas species symbiotic with the same coral species remains unresolved.
