This study aimed to (1) examine the acute changes in the glenohumeral range of motion (ROM) after repetitive pitching and (2) clarify whether arm speed during pitching is associated with changes in the glenohumeral internal rotation (IR) and horizontal adduction (HADd) ROM. This study explored the use of virtual reality (VR) in disaster preparedness education, focusing on VR scenarios, disaster types, and user interactivity to identify gaps in existing research. A scoping review methodology, based on the Arksey and O'Malley framework and Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses-Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) guidelines, was used, and the protocols were registered in the UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN000052800). Relationship between ability to perform the deep squat test (DST) and floating toes among baseball players with disabled throwing shoulder/elbow was retrospectively investigated. As cardiomyocyte loss causes heart failure, inhibition of cardiomyocyte death may be a therapeutic strategy against heart failure. In this study, we have identified defender against cell death 1 (Dad1) as a candidate regulator of cardiomyocyte death, using complementary DNA microarray and siRNA knockdown screening. Dad1 is a subunit of oligosaccharyltransferase (OST) complex that is responsible for protein N-glycosylation; however, its function in cardiomyocytes remains unknown.

Aβ (amyloid beta) oligomers, the major neurotoxic culprits in Alzheimer's disease, initiate early pathophysiological events, including neuronal hyperactivity, that underlie aberrant network activity and cognitive impairment. Although several synaptotoxic effects have been extensively studied, neuronal hyperexcitability, which may also contribute to cognitive deficits, is not fully understood. This study aimed to identify whether the combined use of functional electrical stimulation (FES) reduces the motor torque of a gait exercise rehabilitation robot in spinal cord injury (SCI) and to verify the effectiveness of the developed automatic assist level adjustment in people with paraplegia.
